Nail Varnish Base

Hi y'all
Please can anybody recommend a decent varnish base? My varnish never lasts pasts a day and i have tried many bases and top coats. i always buy 'good' brands' but have very little staying power. i'm presuming it's due to the base?
Possibly it's the topcoat? i don't know but would love a recommendation that i can buy in Boots as that's the only cosmetic place near me (apart from TKMax which is v hit and miss).

For basecoat, Orly Bonder. For top coat the Sally Hansen ones are all good. My personal fave is this one.
