Non grim sun lotion - face and body

The feel of most sun protection lotions is enough to make me feel mildly nauseated. Are there any that are bearable and not to fragranced and actually work?

Happy for separate face / body products. In fact a bearable non heavy BB cream or something would be good. I am super pale and generally just avoid the sun but not so easy when have an active toddler.

Ultrasun. Fragrance free and absorbs really quickly. Not greasyand suitable for young children (including my ds with eczema). I'm super pale too and use the family 30. I can't stand fragranced products at all.

And it's once a day (unless you're in water etc).

Sunsense do a tinted facial sunblock that I swear by. It goes on nice and matte and it's good for under foundation if you wear it in the summer.

I use Sunsense sun sensitive on the DC and on my body, it feels fine on but it has a white tinge to it. There's no reason not to use the facial one all over though, and I do use it on my body if that's all that I have in my bag.

For body I use Neutrogena Beach Defence spray SPF 70. It's very dry and light so you don't get that horrid greasy feeling on your skin.

For face I use another Neutrogena SPF 70 one called Ultrasheer, but it's a face product. Again it's very dry and didn't feel greasy.

I've never found anything for my scalp though that doesn't make my hair go greasy.

I'm just back from two weeks in Spain where I used the La Roche Posay BB sunscreen.
I also hate the feeling of sunscreen and am prone to spots. This stuff was brilliant!Smile

Sunsense for the face is great - but I have abandoned it now I've found Biore Watery Essence. It's Japanese, and you can get it from Amazon. Amazing, wonderful stuff. Light and non-greasy and lovely.
For the body, I like clear sun sprays. Nivea does one, as does Ambre Solaire.

Sunsense sports gel is the best I've found for a non greasy shiny body.
I use a matte white la Roche posay for my face - I found the tinted one dark & oily.

I like the ultrasun family 30spf. I get strange itchy red flare ups from the sun even with normal sun tan lotion on, but not with ultrasun. I use it on my super pale red headed dd too.

For the face I've tried various clinque blocks but they are quite drying. I've got Vichy Ideal Soleill BB spf 50 at the moment. It gives good sun protection but as I'm pale I have to blend it well to avoid looking slightly orange. Good for the summer only! I've got hyperpigmentation so it helps to blend my brown patches in.

Biore watery essence for face
Banana boat powder dry spray (or something!) for body. Spray on and no need to run in

I also hate perfume - nasty fake flowers, coconut, all that rubbish.

Ambre Solaire sports stuff isn't totally unperfumed but is bearable and works. £3 a bottle in our local B and M!!

I've just repurchased La Roche Posay ultra light spf50 fluid for the face. It has no tinge, is moisturising but very light and non greasy. It is a tiny bottle for £11 though. I'm frugal but don't like to scrimp on facial sunscreen.

Neostrata Sheer Physical Protection SPF50. I have well managed early Rosacea and very sensitive skin. My dermatologist recommended this brand. This product is the best facial sunscreen I have ever tried.

Be careful with ultrasun my skin hated it! I found it very heavy and tacky and my skin was dry, itchy and sore. Also I still get burnt with this one despite applying more than the recommended amount!
I know lots of people rave about it though

When I lived in NZ there was a great choice of high factor non greasy ones - I think oasis sun or something like that?

Clinique city block is ok for off beach day to day face protection
Neutrogena ultra sheer clear face is good ( although I know their formulation seems to vary between countries...)

Look for brands from Oz, NZ or South Korea - they're usually really good and non greasy. I too loathe the feeling of sunscreen but am pale and slightly red headed so need bucket loads of it.

Neutrogena- the Ultra Sheer range. Am a sunscreen fanatic and it's the best.

I have a cupboard full of the stuff - face, body, and spray-on.

It's unfragranced, matte, and really, really works.
