Cheap foundation

I currently use benefit foundation and have, in the past, used Urban Decay, Clinique, Lancôme, the lot really. However, I'm trying to cut back and can't really justify spending £25-30 on foundation. Which cheaper brands are any good?

How much coverage do you want?

For a light coverage, the Bourjois CC cream is a tenner and I really rate it. I wear it every day.

For more coverage, Revlon Colour Stay is pretty good. Need to apply it with a brush, though, for best effects.

I tend to have all over coverage so the Revlon one is probably more for me. Thanks.

If you want all over coverage try max factor panstick. Fantasic coverage (you need a light hand)and also doubles as a brilliant concealer, covers all redness spots scars etc

I find the loreal infallible ones quite good. Not tried the matte version though but interested to see what it's like as its only 7.99.

Revlon colour stay is fantastic but it brought me out in cystic acne which is a common complaint (I've since discovered!) so definitely worth a try but if you start getting spots that could be the culprit.

Boujois Healthy Mix is fab. I usually use Chanel and Bobbi Brown, and this is almost as good.

Boujois is made by the people as Chanel (and IMO it shows)

Ooh, I didn't know that about Boujois.

no joke, my eldest dd bought some Natural collection shine away for £1.99, and i tried some, and despite me having much more aged skin (dry, big pores etc...) it's worked so well mixed with a bit of my Bb cream.

I'm a Clarins person normally.

I have found No. 7 Stay Perfect to be good.

Really loved the idea of Max Factor Pan Stik but didn't get on with it. Maybe I need to learn a new technique for applying it?

Bourjois Healthy Mix gets rave review - I intend to try it soon.

I got the Bourjois Healthy Mix after reviews on here. Boots had an offer at the time of two Bourjois items for £14 so I got two bottles.

I'm pleased so far. I use it with or without powder.

Yes to no. 7 - I've tried every expensive foundation going and only ended up with this one because my mum gave me it, but I'm now on the 4th bottle. High praise!

I like the No 7 compact one in the palest colour.

YY Bourjois Healthy Mix, as long as you are happy with a fairly dewy finish.

Another vote for no7 stay perfect.
Easy to blend, not too oily, doesn't aggravate my skin, great colour match for me.

Maybelline matte mousse, I swear by it! Covers really well, no greasiness and doesn't look like I'm wearing make up. Only around £7 too... Wink

BearFoxBear, do you use No. 7 Stay Perfect or one of the others in the range?

I love all of the bourjois ones I have tried but yes particularly the cc cream. Great coverage, feels really light on and blends brilliantly.

Number 17 BB cream is excellent. Good coverage and SPF25. Layers well. So cheap. I use as my every day foundation.

Also like the bodyshop minerals powder foundation, and the all in one face base.

Good for when you are in a rush. Bit of concealer underneath, blend and swirl with a kabuki brush - off you go.

There's always a deal on too.
I might have a couple on the way to me now.....Wink

LazyCake I use the Lift & Luminate one, but I think that the Stay Perfect has more shades to choose from.

I use No7 Stay Perfect now after switching from Clinique.
I like No7 Superlight too, in summer.
