Apparently these are the trainers of the moment. But £75??? Does anyone or anyone dc's have them? Can you buy them any cheaper?

They are all the rage here too. Is it a specific colour combination that is driving the price up? With all the sales on at the moment, I hope that you can find it for less.

She likes the white ones with the black stripe. Do people buy these for their teens as and when, or just for Christmas/birthday presents?

My step daughter has glittery ones, I must say they are beautiful. I got them for her birthday. All the kids get a pair of new trainers on their birthday.

What shoe size is she? Dd2 is 13 and a size 6 and got hers from the junior range at JD Sports. She'd saved up the £75 but the juniors were £48. Exactly what she wanted with a black stripe - one very happy girl. This was a couple of months ago though so I'm not sure what they have in now but might be worth a look?

Unfortunately her birthday isn't until January!

honey that's exactly what I thought - she is a size 3 and yesterday when we looked online we found a junior pair in a 3 for £48. But dd says they are 'different' Hmm

Ah, I didn't think of that! Although to be honest hers don't look any different to me. We had the junior ones and women's ones side by side in the shop. But them I'm just an old goth and don't get the trainer thing!

I don't get it either honey Grin Dd says the tongue is bigger in the junior ones.

Oh these are THE trainers at the moment alright. Nothing else can even be contemplated. Have you looked on the Adidas website? We had trouble getting the size we needed in stores. We got them for 48 pounds plus postage.

Sorry, cross post, see the junior sizes are unacceptable!

Dd 12 got them recently, had some money saved. They're actually lovely, and make her very happy. So, why not! She rarely gets pricey things. She got a pair with colour on the stripes, not black.

She's size 5, so was able to get them in juniors which was cheaper. But the black stripe ones go to adult prices from size 3! Even though they're all superstars. Suppose it's that they're most popular colour....Just luck she chose the cheaper ones. Guy in shop said everyone has the black now anyway, and hers were cooler, which sealed the deal Smile

Sorry, x-post here too! If she'll only get adult ones, you'll stuck having to pay adult prices.

My eleven year old fancies a pair. Maybe for her birthday.

My 15yo DD set up a unidays account, and got a discount using that. I think she got hers from foot asylum, and she's an adult size 6.

Dd 15 has a serious Adidas fetish. She's a size 5 and buys juniors.

I honestly don't recall ever paying £75 for a pair.

I'd look on size, usc, footlocker and office.

Office sell junior superstars. They are exactly the same as adult range

Have just ordered the junior version online from Adidas website for my 13yo, so I hope they will withstand her scrutiny. Thought they looked exactly the same as the adult ones, so am hoping if I don't tell her she won't notice.

I've had a pair for 18 months, does that make me an early-adopting Cool Mum?

My DD has had them for a year and has worn them to death!! Certainly value for money in the end.

The difference is she's 16 1/2 now so when I bought them I knew she'd be able to wear them until they wore out, with no change in her shoe size.

Check Zalando, you can get with 10% discount code here plus if you sign for a newsletter they will take £10 off so I think it's a good deal. I've got them myself.

Hang on - just googled- not the rainbow ones, apologies. They're more of a speckle. But the rainbow ones appear to be on the official Adidas site.

I got my 14 year old DD a pair of size 6 adult ones with black stripes from the Schuh imperfects site. They had a biro mark on which I removed using hairspray. I think they were around £30. They do have them in and out of stock on that site if you are willing to clean them up or whatever. DD wears hers constantly.

Otherwise Asos has 10% on quidco and you could use a student code for another 10% off.

I was wearing these 20 years ago so I was a really early adopter Grin.

If she's lucky enough to fit into kids' sizes she/you will save a fortune over the years - not sure my trainer addiction would have continued if I had bigger feet! If not you'll have to bite the bullet and pay adult prices but there's usually a discount code around so rarely any need to pay full price.

My DD14 was desperate for Nike Roshes so had them for Xmas then my brother bought her Converse for her birthday in June. If she wants something I consider expensive throughout the year I tend to tell her what I'm prepared to spend and get her to pay the rest towards it.

My 12yo DD got the Superstars with black stripes a few months ago and has worn noting else since. No other colour way would do either - especially when I told her that I used to have the silver stripe version and also the red/blue stripe version! She's size 7 though, and I couldn't find any discounts for the black stripe style anywhere.
She's now moved on to Nike Roshes for the summer. There's plenty of cheaper buys on Ebay for these - £40 instead of £70.
