Just thought I'd do a little straw poll and mention what beauty/makeup/hair products I've loved (or always liked) over past few months, what hasn't worked for me and ask you for yours.

Me: 44 but told younger... Dry/combi skin but luckily hardly any or no wrinkles! Apart from laughter lines...

La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF50 - love this, it works.
Maybelline dream lumi touché light reflecting concealer (been using past 2-3 years now) just as good if not better than the Clinique one
Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara in Cats Eyes - been using this for past 3 months it is AMAZING!
OGX renewing Arian oil weightless reviving dry oil - just as good and cheaper than my Moroccan oil Light proper version (salons only).
TIGI red bottles shampoo and conditioner for my highlighted hair, just started to use conditioner and it's amazing from first use how it looked and felt.
Olay instant hydration day cream - used since it first came out and amazing, does the job, skin loves it.
Nivea night moisturiser
Aveda elements smoothing fluid lotion
Umberto giannini perfect beauty finishing cream but the buggers have discontinued it!!!

My on the fence or dislikes:-
Waitrose pure moisturiser - ok but not a keeper
L'oreal triple active day moisturiser - ok again but not a keeper, too rich?
Maybelline the colossal volum express smokey eyes - did nothing for my lashes whatsoever, maybe a bit thicker but not like cats eyes.

Anyone else want to add new like or dislikes?

Oh and I've also gone over to Bodyform from Allways towels!

Just rediscovered Pantene conditioner after weeks and weeks of hair looking dreadful in this awful humidity!

I'll be back with some more...

I've gone back to Bodyshop Vit E , I was getting irritated watery eyes with other creams (not when I applied them, though. About 3pm when my hot flushes hit)

I'm a Lush henna convert after years of box dye (I used Superdrugs dye)

NYX - ooh. There are about 5 stands in the Bluewater Boots now, I had to keep DD on a virtual harness (and I got myself somethings too) .
Eyeliner pencil survived overnight and a shower ( I didn't remove it, too idle)

Underwhelmed by aragon oil in any form.
Ditto coconut oil.

Ooh...I love this type of thread, am so nosey Grin

Whats the Aveda Elements smoothing fluid lotion, SuperFlyHigh ?

I discovered Body Shop camomile cleansing butter a few weeks ago and my skin LOVES it. I was using Superdrug Vit E hot cloth cleanser, which I still rate, but this is even better.

Also really like the Body Shop 'Wild Atlas Rose' range - body lotion, body butter, shower gel, perfume. Its my perfect rose scent - smells like real roses but not heavy and headachey.

Bourjois CC cream - discovered this about a year ago and am SO bloody happy with it.

AdoraKiora The Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid Lotion says it is "weightless shine for all hair types" which it is - it's almost like Moroccan oil but it isn't... It just smoothes down hair and adds shine, never found anything like it in Boots or Superdrug sadly and it's great on my fine, highlighted hair.

It's I suppose a finishing shine.

Yes I am same as you Adora I am nosey but also like to share and see what's out there (am also a Glosser) what other people use...

I bought a tester pack of bumble & bumble full potential on the recommendation of the hairdresser and it really felt like it worked. It smells lovely too.
The snag is its a 3 part system so its terrifyingly expensive to get all three in one go.
Also on the $$$ side (and I actually haven't had it for years because of this) Eve Lom cleanser. It's a faff but completely transformative.

RImmel Volume Colourist Mascara. It's name is accurate. It gives great volume with a deep, deep black colour. It also tints the lashes over a period of time to the point that when I had my brows dyed yesterday I didn't need the lashes doing.

Also the new Clinique chubby stick foundation - I was not impressed with the Chubby lips (no staying power) or the Chubby eyes (poor pigmentation and dragged) but the foundation is great. Buildable coverage and easy to blend.

I have just had my hair bleached, and have been using a L'oreal Elvive oil in cream, it has made my hair soft and manageable.
Disappointments, because I had previous colour on my hair, the ends are more yellow than the roots. Have tried three different things to try to tone this down, and nothing working yet. If anyone has any suggestions......

I'm a big fan of all the Superdrug Vitamin E range, much prefer it to the Body Shop one.

I'm loving LimeCrime lipstick too.

I'm on the hunt for a cream blusher, the benefit one I used has been discontinued Shock

Disappointment would be Aussie shampoo

I don't like the much loved Kate Moss for Rimmel lipsticks - dull and so drying . (The 01 Red is relegated to my Hallowe'en lipstick if I'm dressing as Corpse Bride)

Don't rate the Soap& Glory lippies either. (Also dry)

Madly covet the Urban Decay lipstick I bought for my daughter. Smooth, long lasting, even colour, sophisticated solid case.
I need to buy one for me and the lip primer.

I'm loving the Ultimate Blends Honey Bee Propolis strengthening hair serum - my hair is KNACKERED after constant bleaching, stripping, recolouring etc, but this stuff makes it soft, silky and manageable again (I use a lot more than the recommended 2 drops though - very thick hair).

I like the Mythic Olive range from Ultimate Blends too. Not massively impressed with the others, but for a cheapish brand my hair's looking pretty good!

I bought some Clarins stuff last month as there were extra Advantage points.
Wow. My skin has never looked better. I use the anti-pollution cleansing milk with a muslin cloth, the exfoliating lotion and the multi-active daycream.
I am a total convert!!

Also I reckon L'oreal shampoos and conditioners are the best, I've been using the clay shampoo and it's great.

Oh also REN Clarimatte toner. Boots Botanics is a great cheaper option.

Love No7 Stay Perfect tubular mascara. Finally, a mascara which stays on my eyelashes!! In brown black.

Also loving John Frieda Curly styling spray.

Not so much: Aussie shampoo and deep conditioning treatment. Seems to make my hair really greasy.

Love love love Lancôme mascaras. The only ones that have ever stayed put while my eyes water as I bike to work and don't smudge at all when you blink after applying. Also loreal elvive, the clay one, if the first shampoo and conditioner I've used that has allowed me to wash my hair less than once a day.

Clarins Cocoa butter face wash is really nice.

Not so much - nip and fab exfoliator. I love my neals yard honey and oatmeal scrub though.

  1. Lush "honey I washed my hair" shampoo bar -
It smell devine and leaves your hair soft and beautiful. I refuse to use anything else now. Price £5 approx and lasts 3 months.

  2. Tresemme 7 day straight keratin balm -
Its a dream for frizzy hair, apply it wet and style as normal, your hair will be like silk. £7 approx and lasts a month.

  3. Olay total effects 7 day and night creams -
I am 24 years old and been through chemo and menopause, my skin suffered and I had lines. They are now GONE. They dont even exist anymore. It leaves my face plump and healthy. £25 approx for both.

  4. Lip stains by younique
These are £18 each and actually stay on your lips all day. I couldnt be without one now.

  5. PURE Argan oil. I coat my hair in this once a week for an hour before washing. Its the best thing I have ever done. My frizzy dry wild mane is now a silky smooth waterfall of hair.

  6. The body shop banana conditioner
It smells like banana milkshake and is just better than any ive tried. £5 a bottle.

  7. ANY body shop body butter
I just dont think anyone and make one quite like it. Choose a yummy fruit scent and rock that all summer long.

  8. Malibu sun cream dry oil
You catch a lovely tan while staying safe in the sun and smell like a tropical coconut.

  9. Garnier Micellar water
Ive tried many, I love this one the most. I have all my friends HOOKED too.
