Hello, newbie here with a very dull first post.
I'm in the process of trying to smarten up my work wardrobe as I'm hopefully up for a promotion. I am looking at pencil skirts/fitted dresses. I don't wear black at all as I look awful in it so wear a lot of navy.
In the past I've gone for knee boots/jersey dresses so there has only ever been a sliver of hosiery visible. However, now I want to look a bit sleeker, I am trying to work out what I can wear on my legs. I usually wear flats rather than heels but want a pair of 'emergency' heels too. I have seen a pair of navy heels as well as some navy brogues in the Clarks sale and was just about to buy when it struck me that I'm not sure about tights.
Summer I'm be ok in nude tights but in Autumn I'd want something opaque. Can I wear black tights with a navy skirt and shoes? I'm not funky enough to make coloured tights look like anything other than silly and I'm not sure they are 'corporate' enough anyway.
Am I just better off going for black shoes and tights? My legs are more along the sturdy pit pony model rather than sleek race horse (as is the rest of me). I'm not very stylish and in 40 years have never managed to look anything other than slightly messy so trying to look like Mrs put together is a bit of a challenge!
