Outfit to go to a concert. FAT!!

I'm off to see Stone Roses tonight. I booked the tickets in November (3 months after baby) and was certain I'd be skinny by now...I'm not! Haha. My boobs and belly are still enormous (34HH! Gah!) None of my clothes fit and certain shapes look ridiculous. I'd love to throw on some ripped skinnies and a top but it magnifies the barrell-on-legs that I've become. If I wear something fitted my boobs and belly look enormous, if I wear something loose it looks like a tent hanging down from my boobs.

I have this dress and these shoes which I plan to wear with a leather biker jacket to toughen it up a bit. The dress fits beautifully and hides problem areas but I'm worried I'm going to look like a mumsy frump. Is this too twee? I'm too skint to buy anything new :(

Well it is a bit twee but that is okay, people can and do pull that off well.

I would imagine +90% are going to be in jeans and dark clothing. Do you have ankle boots to toughen it up a bit more?

I second the suggestion for ankle boots

However. I also think that it doesn't really matter what you look like at a concert as no-one will know you so as long as you feel nice and look nice and most importantly, feel comfortable then that's what matters.

I'm sure you look much better than you think, and have a lovely time Flowers

I like the outfit although I'd be worried about the horizontal stripes.

To be honest you can wear anything to a concert you won't care when the lights go down helpful

I don't have suitable non-wintery/heavy looking boots unfortunately!
The horizontal stripes don't seem to be too much of an issue as the dress fits well...and my hair is nice and I'm good with makeup so won't look too much like a 5 year old girl (I hope!).

I suppose my main issue is that I've gone from being able to throw anything on and feel I look great to feeling like a stranger in someone else's body :(

It's no annoying having a wardrobe full of amazing clothes that are 1-2 sizes too small now!

The gig is outside On grass (unless you've got special tickets) and the forecast is pretty chilly, I reckon you might be cold and have wet feet if you wear that, I'm thinking that jeans and boots would be a better option

Good point Fuzzypeggy. I might just have to suck it up and embrace the barrell on legs tonight!!

I have this dress (which is a bit tenty with boobs) but if I wore it with leather jacket, tights and boots it might be ok?

I'm sure that would look nice but I'm all about dressing for the weather for outside gigs. I reckon most people will be in jeans and waterproofs

"feeling like a stranger in someone else's body "
I remember that feeling well Sad. It lasted a little over a year after each baby.

I agree you'll be cold in the dress. Wear the jeans. It might be worth moving away from the skinny jeans and trying another leg shape next time you go shopping.

Sorry, I can't contribute much but I do agree that if it's an outside gig, many will forgo looking 'good' for a big warm coat and boots.

On another note, where is the first stripy dress from, I love it!

Procrastinating: the stripey dress is from Seasalt, Rosina is the style name I think (shoot me with an arrow of twee haha!)

I've tried on the flowery dress with tights, boots and jacket and it works well :) I'll wear a thermal under it for heat ;) I've just checked the forecast for tonight an (hopefully) it's going to be cloudy but dry.

Thanks for your help ladies!

I know, I was impatient so did a bit of selective googling and found it! It's lovely. I've never really heard much about Seasalt but having perused their site, I'll definitely be buying something, I'm sure!

Gosh i if i was going to a gig tonight outside with the prospect of rain i would be in trousers, boots and a waterproof jacket. I think you may look out of place in a little dress and those shoes. However i am an old gimmer of 53 so what do i know!
