Please find me a gorgeous dress

I have some lovely outings this Summer (wedding, Henley regatta, anniversary dinner at posh hotel) so have been looking for a dress that will take me to all 3.

I am 5'6, size 10 and 38. Blonde and fair skinned. Body is in proportion but no fabulous features.

I always end up drawn to dull shift dresses that I could also wear to work but I really would love something I feel amazing in! Please inspire me ladies! Budget about £200 but could some more if I really loved it.

Thanks

I've no idea if this would fit your bill or not. It's £169, although I got 20% off recently. I'm getting married in it next week.

Chasingsquirrels Sat 28-May-16 10:29:30

Oh, and I'm 5"6/7', 44 and a size 8 / 10.

Gurraun Sat 28-May-16 10:33:34

That is very pretty, although I find too much light coloured clothing scary as I'm a spiller! - where is it from? And congrats on the wedding!

Chasingsquirrels Sat 28-May-16 10:36:26

What colours are you thinking?

(It's Jacques Vert - hence not linking. I wouldn't have even looked there and had found a dusky pink Coast one I liked, but we were looking in a department store and DP saw it and pointed it out. I love it.)

I loved this www.phase-eight.com/eu/fcp/product/phase-eight/dresses/floris-dress/203345765 as well, would have brought it if I had anything to wear it to.

I love this Ted Baker dress...its not for me but would look fab on someone with the right figure.

I like a lot of the secret trellis stuff on there and I also love the style of that dress and they have other designs in the same style

I completely adore this one from Toast: currently half price at £125. It's a bit different and just such a gorgeous shape. See what you think.

Banana Republic have some really nice dresses at the moment...I don't normally look twice but have already bought 2 in the last month.
This one might be good for you?

That nancymac site looks fabulous palace

PalacePalacePalace Sat 28-May-16 11:27:27

member its a very tempting site. Just ordered 3 dresses - although 2 of them will need to go back...probably.
The right side of vintage with out feeling like it's fancy dress.

And fab customer service.

polyhymnia Sat 28-May-16 11:29:24

LK Bennett would be well worth a look I think.

APlaceOnTheCouch Sat 28-May-16 11:29:36

The Nancy Mac site looks fab. I've never heard of them before.

I like some of the Ariella dresses.

Yes, vintage without the somewhat hackneyed "Lindy Bop" loud/quirky

Gurraun Sat 28-May-16 12:06:40

Wow thanks, lots to look at. I had forgotten about Ted Baker and they are lovely. Great to see some brands new to me too. Will have a good look.
