I'm 5 ft 7 and size 24. I'm at a family day with DH's company next weekend and want something nice to wear. I'd prefer a dress, below knee length but I have wide hips. I have about £40 to spend (not a lot I know but budget really can't stretch) please point me in the right direction, I'm terrible at shopping!

I have black heels and matching handbag, so would like use those if possible

The do is outdoors, its a family fun day. I want to look nice for DH, he's only been in the job 4 months so he wants to make a good impression.

Loads of lovely ideas but sadly most of them are too small :(

Thanks for the link baboonbottom but vintage wear is not to my taste or body shape.

wildheart I'd never heard of Asos Curve so I'll have a look. I do like that last one and it might be long enough.

I meant to add, I would prefer to be able to go and try it on, the do is next Saturday so no time to send stuff back and find something else.

Does anyone know how ASOS sizing fits? Is it true or run small/big?
