What to do about my broken nails?

It's driving me nuts but this happens all the time to 3 of my nails. They split really low down, get caught on something and torn off (ow), grow out, split again then the whole cycle continues. I think this is damage from false nails done years ago. How can I stop the cycle continuing??

Mine are the same and I've not found anything - except just keeping them short.

I've tried all sorts though admittedly not religiously. I think damage does eventually grow out but if the base has been traumatised that can take a very long time.

My advice would be have a simple manicure as often as you can manage it because the correct filing and massage will really help the regrowth. There are also loads of great oils and treatments now that can "feed" your nails. For now, my trick for nails that have split low down, I cut a piece of tea bag and I use a clear polish to keep it firmly together and avoid a big, painful split!

Vaseline rubbed in every night makes your nails strong but flexible and far less prone to splitting.

Ive not used it myself but how about something like this?

It's meant to really build up your nails and make them thicker and stronger.

I'd also keep nails short, use handcream lots, cuticle oil too. If you can use in combination with the bio build (not sure if you can) maybe a strengthening gel coat like this?

No idea how to prevent it happening but you can buy stuff to repair the rip (well temporarily fuse it together) to stop it ripping off. This stuff.

Or the DIY version that uses a tea bag works well too. I've done this before and it works but tends to need polish over it to make it less noticeable.

Thanks for the advice, will look into the links Thanks
I've tried the tea bag trick before when I shattered a toe nail, and it works really well - although I used super glue not nail varnish. Nail varnish sounds more sensible!

That length is to long for you. If your nails keep breaking then your nails aren't strong enough for that length if unsupported.
Go half that length. Have regular manicures and use a good cuticle oil.
Also wear gloves when cleaning. If you want that longer length they need support, a gel polish would most likely provide enough.

You can buy nail glue.

I wouldn't use gel polish, it is what has caused my nails to weaken.
