Trousers for a pear? Chinos?

I'm a (short-ish) pear shape, size 10 but with chunky thighs and a smaller waist. I am after a pair of smart/casual trousers that make me look a bit taller and slimmer.

I really like the look of some of the chino-style trousers but think they look much better on those with long thin legs, not my tree trunks!

Any recommendations?

I like next chinos. I'm only 5.2 so get them in petite. I have a pair of navy belted ones. I'm a size 12 but went for the 14 in the petite but they do give so are a bit big around waist now.

I also like the relaxed boy fit jeans from Next too. I'm a bit pear shaped and for me they are just a nice fit on the legs but aren't baggy. Plus they actually come up quite high without being high waisted.

I'm a pear shape and I find wide leg trousers make me look fat all over. I love Boden's chinos because they are comfy and make my fat, saggy arse look plump and shapely, my waist look tiny and my legs look longer. In short, they transform me from Bagpuss to more hourglass. Genius purchase. Order a pair and have a look in the mirror.

Yes to Boden trousers for pears. GAP are good for chino style trousers too.

Def not wide leg trousers for a pear shape! I'm a pear shape and they make my legs look huge because they look large all the way down in wide leg trousers.

Next chinos are good but I have to size down as they are big anyway and then stretch out as you wear them.

I think fitted trousers show off natural curves where wide leg and boot cut add more shape to an already shapely body, which I don't think is necessary.

I had been eyeing up the boden chinos already.... I might take the plunge if they're flattering! Thanks everyone! I hadn't considered cigarette jeans at all, good suggestions!
