Ok you lovely lot, here's a challenge for you. I'm extremely over weight - looking at size 22-24 (and will therefore struggle like a pig on stilts in heels) and I have lypodema so can't wear a short dress at all, but maxi dresses don't really work on me either as I'm short and dumpy. What would you put me in?!! I need two outfits as I have 2 posh summer weddings with the same people attending. I'm looking at a budget of around £200 for the two outfits including shoes.

Head over to Studio 8 and see if you like anything. Get shoes/bag that you can wear with both outfits. Spend some of your budget on good smoothing undies (M&S have a good range) that will help things sit better.

PS Same size, size issues.

Hmmm. It's ok... Looks a little bit casual but could dress it up maybe.

Those are both very nice jumpsuits. Was coming to suggest similar.

I prefer the style of the black one. Is it ok to wear black to a summer wedding?

all Black isn't really ok but Sheba's one is navy which is fine. Something like this print would be fine.

Might you consider trousers?

There are some lovely palazzo pants around at the moment.

Hi Op. I am on the short and dumpy side too. I tried on several 'weddding' outfits yesterday and found jumpsuits made me look like Andy Pandy!

Hi everyone

I have similar issues size 22.
Varicose veins so dresses aren't great option, tho can do maxis.
Added embarrassing problem of excessive sweating so a lot of fabrics and colours are off limits add to that since going into menopause I seem to sweat excessively In Groin area which makes me look like I have wet myself. BlushBlushI have three weddings over the summer all of which are very stylish affairs. Confused

I guess I will have to go and try stuff on and get an idea of whether it works for me. Thanks for the advice!

Maverick, there's a company called Hot Squash that makes Summer clothes in a fabric they call Cool fresh. It's supposed to keep you cool. I haven't tried it myself so I've no idea if it actually works but it might be worth a look. I've seen them in house of fraser and debenhams.
Heres one maxi but there are a number of colours snd styles.

Lovely dresses but I have lypodema which means my legs are unusually large and not really get-outable unfortunately. Really lovely dresses though!
