anyone sold their wedding dress easily?

It was over £3k new in 2012.

I dont want much for it. Id be happy for it to go to a good home for £100, but every dress seller I have contacted wants to advertise it for £600 and will wait until its sold

Id much rather sell it quicker for less.

Has any one done that?

Yes, on Gumtree. It went for £100 less than rrp (was a Kitty and Dulcie dress which retails at rrp£325) and sold in 2 days.

If you're not worried about the money, you could consider donating it to somewhere like the Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, which helps people who are ill with cancer to still get married.

I also donated mine on a local forum. The person who got it sent me photos when she was married. I'm glad someone else who may not have been able to afford it was given a chance to feel princess-y!

But mine was only about £250, and for £3000 I may have felt differently!!

I sold mine on Preloved, its free to list so no charges. It sold for about 1/2 the price I paid for it, although I think I could've gotten more for it. It was listed for 3/4 weeks I think. I then boxed it and sent is recorded delivery with insurance to the buyer. No hassle.

As PP suggested, if you don't want a lot for it you could consider donating it?

There is a charity that turn wedding dresses into gowns for babies born to early to be buried in, although I don't know their name, sorry.

My mum sold mine on preloved. Not sure how much she got for it but it was worth doing as I didn't have the space to keep it and it wasn't the sort of dress that could be fashioned into a christening robe

I tried my wedding dress on in a shop, fell in love with it but couldn't afford it at £1500. Looked on preloved when I got home and found the same dress for half the price. After my wedding I got it cleaned (which cost £100) then sold it on again (on gumtree) for the same price I payed for it. My mum was very proud of me, she loves a bargain Grin

Sold mine on eBay for £50 less than I bought it for. (Bought it from eBay second hand to start with.) Definitely cost hundreds rather than thousands though.
