How to wear a sheer top

I bought a linen navy Mint Velvet top today in the charity shop.

It's lovely and will look nice with skinny jeans but you can see my bra through it a bit. I was thinking off getting a dark coloured strappy vest top to wear under it.

Is that how you stylish people would wear it? I'm a 40 something and don't want to look crazy if I'm way off the mark...or do you just wear it sheer and show a bit of bra?

Don't wear it sheer. Put a vest/cami underneath.

Ok, I thought so. It was a total bargain so couldn't resist it Grin

I've got a few linen mix t-shirts that are slightly see through. I wear skinny strap cotton vests underneath, black or white depending on tshirt colour. I find the Primark adjustable strap vests really good. I've got loads for wearing under stuff. They wash well.

I got a navy cami for exactly the same reason- bought mine this week from Zara for £5.99! It's called a strappy top - 'tis perfect.

Ok I will splash out on a strappy top. I paid £7 for the sheer top!

I wear skin/beige coloured strappy vests under sheer tops so they blend in with my skin and you can't tell they're on once sheer top is on.

I thought you might say that! The navy strappy top should serve you well beyond that MV too though...

I would wear a strappy number underneath but I'm 43 so not sure I'm qualified to advise! What a bargain though - lucky you!!
