My beloved GHD hair straighteners have finally packed up after 12 years. One of the plates started smoking this morning as I was using them and there's a burned line visiable on the side of the plate, so it's not just something splashed on them. 
I can't afford another pair at GHD prices until my birthday the dead ones were purchased pre-DC when we had more spare cash but I need some straighteners. Can anyone recommend some cheaper straighteners, I'm hoping for £30 - max £40.
