Rings

DH wants to buy me a ring of my choice for my 40th birthday this summer to wear on my wedding finger as my old wedding ring got damaged no longer fits. I don't have the longest or most elegant fingers and am not the longest or most elegant of people Grinand I'm not sure what will suit so I thought I'd ask the wonderful women of S&B for inspiration.

Info:

Budget up to around £200 (but would be interested in style ideas even if they are outside of this)

I prefer silver coloured jewellery - usually wear a silver necklace but not much other jewellery.

My colouring is warm blonde - slightly sallow skin but blue eyes & pink cheeks.

Usual clothing style fairly informal, wear a lot of teal and grey.

Have small DS so needs to be practical for everyday - non catchy!

Ideally I'd like to be able to go to a shop to see how it looks rather than online only (I'm in London).

I like the one in the picture but think it may be too slim for me. Maybe a crossover style? But really I want to see if there are completely different things out there which I wouldn't have thought of. Something a bit different.

Thanks for your ideas!

I had exactly the same dilemma, and agree that you need to go and try a ring on. I was going to go for a similar style to your picture, but in the end went for one with three diamonds on a white gold band from Fraser Hart. I am a TA in a school, and haven't had any problems with it catching. Only try rings in your budget though!

They have beautiful rings on NotontheHighStreet, really different, or you could go vintage.

Have a look at NOTHS but go to the designers direct as they'll be cheaper! NOTHS charge big commissions to their makers.

With your colouring a really strong blue like a London or Swiss blue topaz would look stunning.

Ooh lovely ideas thank you! I love the colour of the London Blue Topaz, I had never heard of it before.

I got a blue topaz ring for my 40th and absolutely adore it! Also wear lots of teal and grey colours and it matches really well. Mine is the lighter blue colour topaz (cheaper) but the London blue is gorgeous if you have a bit more to spend!

Have fun choosing Smile

Ooh thank you for the suggestions. Exactly what I was hoping for, the type of thing I would never have found myself. Enjoying looking at his site!
