I'm 36, have 2 young DC, am fairly tall (5'10) and fairly slim (if that's relevant!?!) - and I'm having a bit of a confidence crisis with regards to what to wear and where to shop!!

I generally wear (skinny) jeans with a shirt or jumper, and some Converse or some flat, ankle boots.

I used to shop in places like Topshop and River Island but feel I'm too old for these now (?!) but equally don't feel old enough to be shopping at M&S????!!

I need to completely sort my wardrobe out, have a clear out, and start afresh.
So I need inspiration please!

So, what do you wear & where do you shop for clothes? Thank you!

I am 48 and I shop at Topshop, mainly jeans admittedly, but I still walk through those doors. If you have enough time why don't you go into town and just have a massive trying on session. Don't buy anything that you don't absolutely love and want to wear out of the shop. Take your time. I like Uniqlo, Zara and Gap. I think after you have small children you lose yourself, so just go and see what you like and feel good in, that's the only criteria you need.

I only wear dresses. Don't own a single pair of trousers. I go to
George
Simple be
Asos
Lindy bop
eBay
Now and again Evans and newlook but it's very hit and miss in there though, but when they do have nice things. They're gorgeous.

I always love the clothes in Whistles but they're a bit too pricey for me. All of the looks they have in there look very chic. Xx

I think you should approach it like any other problem and get some objective professional advice. See a personal stylist, go to a colour consultant etc. I did this after being stuck in a similar rut and am no longer googling plastic surgeons feel loads better.

I still buy basics from Topshop - jeans, vests and the occasional top for example. But 90% of my wardrobe comes from Oasis. It's totally my style. I'm a little older than you but also fatter!

I tend to shop in department stores where I can pick and choose from a large range of brands.

I rarely wear jeans - I'm fairly tall and slim, but very hourglass, so find them awkward and uncomfortable - so my go-to outfit would be a denim skirt for casual days or a dress for work. I also have a few more casual dresses (and a few dressier skirts).

On my feet I generally wear ankle boots or heeled brogues. I will be getting out my open-toed shoes in a couple of weeks, but it's still a bit cold right now.

I've recently discovered an online shop called Joy that sells lovely skirts (some of their stuff isn't my style but I've got some nice things too)

I also like warehouse and Oasis :)
