My goodness, £3.50 per tube Shock.

Is that actual real tretinion????!!

I've been buying it for eye-watering amounts from a private derm in the past, but now can't afford it so looking for alternative dodgy places.

How cab you tell it's real ? [thicko emoticon]

The ones 'Geoff' sells are made by Janssen which is part of the Johnson and Johnson company. Definitely real, I had the initial peeling and have slowly worked my way up from 0.025 to 0.05. Still peel a bit if I slap it on a bit too eagerly.

Retin A/tretinion buyers from eBay please advise!

Just a quick question for geoff fans:

Why is the tretinion gel 0.1% £3.50 and the tret cream 0.5% £9.00 a tube? They're both 20g.

Is it just difference pricing by different companies ? Because I have worked my way up to use the 0.1 but don't want to get a lower quality product if that's why it's cheaper. If any of that makes sense to anyone!

I think the only reason the 0.025 is more expensive is because it's more popular. Much easier to use than the harder to handle 0.1

I think the Amazing Faces threads sold ebay out last year! Geoff had none and I got mine from Thailand. Will check name of seller.

I just used a Thai seller with good reviews. 0.05% was the best for my skin.

Every so often ebay will clamp down on these online sellers, so sometimes there's no retin to be found on ebay at all. They usually re-appear at some stage though.

The first couple look like retin a, but a lot of the results are retinol creams which aren't as effective.

Yeah I think they've had a clampdown. Fuckers.

Almost nobody uses 0.1% so it's supply and demand really.

Prices do make you wonder why anyone bothers with expensive skincare at all.

And yes you can tell it's the real thing if you start from scratch and get the redness, skin peeling, it calms down and then like magic your spots disappear and a few months later so does a wrinkle.

I've been using a Dermalogica cream with 0.5% Retinol for the past six months. Could one of you Retin A gurus please recommend what strength I would need to start on for Retin A (for wrinkles rather than acne). Thanks!

0.025%. You need to be very careful with contraception, this is all in the patient info leaflet which you need to read all the way through.

Not just chuck it in the recycling like we normally do.

Thanks for getting back to me. There's no risk of pregnancy but presume it's ok to use if I'm on HRT?

You'd have to check the leaflet. I bet there's a PDF of the instructions on the net or you could google tretinoin drug interactions/contraindications and see what comes up.

Is it listed on the hrt leaflet? There should be a list of meds you should get advice about while taking it.

Mine was healthandbeautyexpress but they seem to only have things like edible gold leaf and sex change pills at the moment Shock

Thank you all for sharing your tret wisdom! BrewThanks

I've ordered fresh ones from Geoff but in the meantime am on week two of tretting again.

I look like fucking Freddy kreugar ! Big spots all over and now starting to peel all over too. Awful. Just awful. Feel like hiding away for six weeks but it's bastard half term and have to get out with the kids

And breathe.

Do you think you're putting a bit too much on? Or using it too often? If your entire face is peeling you're using too much.

I'd cut down the amount and switch to alternate nights.
