What does your DH/DP wear on his feet when wearing shorts?

DD has begged that we find DH new footwear for the summer. Currently, his preferred choice with shorts is walking sandal types (which DD hates) or trainers with socks, which I hate...

Any suggestions?

Either canvas shoes with trainer socks, or some brown leather sandals.

Birkenstocks, Adidas Gazelle or Haviana flip flops

first date.. crocs and socks with shorts. It was a near miss. A near miss. Just dreadful.

I have banned the crocs from the house.

I would love to know what I could replace them with

All sorts. Flip flops, (naice) leather sandals, vans/converse/similar NO SOCKS and he does have walking sandals but only wears them for off road rough walking

Leather sandals or flip flops or canvas type shoes. Good feet are an absolute must if they're going to be out!

Trainer socks with either gazelles or vans type shoes.

What does she suggest he wear? My OH wears walking sandals, I think they look fine.

DH rarely wears shorts. He prefers to wear lightweight full length trousers.

If he does he wears this type of shoe rather than a running sports trainer.

Skate trainers and trainer socks here too.
DP will also wear massive stonking army boots with shorts, but not sure that's for everyone! Grin

Converse, usually. I've seen him wear work boots with shorts occasionally and that looked good.

DS has just acquired some items from merrell that are half trainer, half sandal and can be worn without socks, they look good.

Flip flops. Which he calls Jandals. He has had the same pair for 10 years and nearly cried when one of them finally broke last summer.

Or bare feet.

But then he is a Kiwi and it really can't be helped. Hmm

Birkenstocks. Never ever trainers.

Thank you. To be awkward... He won't wear trainer socks Hmm or no socks, or flip flops. I may have to strongly encourage the no sock option... Any suggestions for sandals?

Squoosh - agree re men in flip flops. The only acceptable place for a man to wear flip flops is in the sauna/in and out of the swimming pool imvho.

Maybe they would annoy both you and DD though?

I shall browse Merrell, thank you. To be fair to DD, DH's are particularly awful. There must be better out there!
