I love my GHDs which are still going strong but my hairdresser thinks (& I trust his judgement) that now the cloud 9s are better and if you need to replace that they are better than the current crop of GHDs

Cloud 9's are better than new GHD's. Parlux for hairdryers.

I had a similar thread and someone suggested getting the GHDs repaired for ÂŁ25. Which I did and now they're as good as new.

My hairdresser reckons that cloud 9 are miles better than GHDs.

I bought some cloud 9 last week they are amazing. My hair is so soft and swishy. The old GHDs left my hair dry and frizzy.

Thanks guys, put a similar post on Facebook and GHDS winning, mainly due to reliability, my currently GHDs have been in service since I was 17, 15 years ago!

What's the diff between the cheaper cloud 9s on their website (white etc 99quid and the supposedly original ones 12 quids? )

Not tried cloud9 so can't comment on straighteners but DH bought me a GHD hairdryer and it's excellent. Really powerful, dries really quickly without leaving my hair feeling dry/frizzy.

Ghd were the best irons you could buy until they sold the company a few years ago. Cloud 9 are definitely better now .

Cloud9's and Parlux

Used GHD for years, my second pair were crap from day one always snagging my hair, eventually they didn't seem to reach the full temperature so I decided to buy Cloud9 wide iron and they are amazing, they make my hair silky and swishy and you can change the temperature which is really handy. I don't even have to use the hottest temperature to straighten my hair. They are made by the same people who made the original GHD, will never buy GHD again.

I just bought the Parlux 385 Powerlite (thanks ladies of MN). Really rate it and my hair looks much better when I dry it. Ordered via Parlux and got free straighteners with it. Haven't used them so have no idea what they're like.

Apparently a diva hairdryer from Sally's is as good as the parlux but under ÂŁ50. Lots of people have rec'd it on another thread. I thought my hairdryer had broken-it's over 20 but the bloomin thing started working again & I feel bad replacing it while it's still doing its job. Maybe when it's my birthday.....
