Lovely dress. Have you done a bra intervention as per the various MN threads? You say you're busty, but 36D really isn't a very big size. You may be a smaller back size & bigger cup size. For example, I'm a size 16 but wear a 32". It's just I know what a massive difference a correctly fitting bra makes! Sorry if you already have!

blue yes I have looked inthe past , but it seems to be right , Im a 35 under the bust and 40 around , I think im doing it correctly..
34 bras are definately too tight and D seems to be the best fit..

NK its ok.. I fessed up!! (anyway I havent bought it yet..Wink)

So I bought It ! its lovely and really flattering.. it was a bit sad that i did have to get the largest size (5) for the boobs and the under band around the ribs, which means its is slightly big on the hips , but its not too big , just not 'bodycon' tight. (and actually I think thats more flattering on me at my advanced age)

It certainly comes up small though. If you look at the 'Teds size' on the website I would have thought i'd need a 3 or 4 . I am normally in 12 or 14 in other shops now. but 'Teds size' shows the one I have as equivalent to a 16! .So am bit Sad to be in the largest size after all that dieting !(....but its only label vanity....Blush ),

Also I may ( though this wont be until after the event i need it for this weekend ) get a couple of inches taken off the hem .. Im 5'5 and its mid calf on me nearly (but still looks great with heels)

Dead Pleased! My first ever 'designer name' dress! Hopefully i'll knock 'em dead on Friday

I also did a bra intervention and went shopping , ended up still with a 36 as the 34s were definately far too tight but an F cup! and yes, it does look much better ..

Glad the bra remeasuring worked out! It really is a very nice dress - I'm sure you'll look fab.

Don't think I've ever seen MN consensus on a dress! It's lovely, you're going to knock em dead.

OP that dress is gorgeous! I particularly like the squared off neckline. It's fab. Will you wear a jacket over it? I'm only asking as I'm in a wedding guest guest quandary myself over what to put over a Ted Baker dress (not this same one, mine is plain blue).

You will look fab.

(Agree their sizing is bonkers, just ignore the number!)

Love the dress, and some of the others. I need something for my niece's wedding this summer, and I may have to make a trip to Ted Baker to try on and decide whether they are suitable for a lady of mature years!

Ilovetorrentialrain, i tried it with a dressy draped jacket I had , but it didnt look right to me., Also its probably going to be cold at least in the church. Ive decided to wear my cropped black cashmere cardi , and ill have a coat also. I think the cardi looks the best of all ive tried , especially as it has 3/4 sleeves. However it wil be warm in the receoption venue , I dont expect ill need any thing over it there , but do also have a pashmina if I do .

cresset mama im sure they will be im in my late 50s!

I tried that on for a wedding this weekend, but it didn't look right on me. I was gutted because I thought it was gorgeous - dead jealous, OP!

I got this instead, which I love - and I'm in my forties, so I reckon Ted Baker is having a moment for the over forties this season.
