Evening shoes with shaped insides to go with floaty dress (a big ask)

I'm going to a fancy wedding next month and have a mid length floaty dress that I like. The wedding will last from early afternoon until very late and there will be a lot of standing around and dancing.

Last summer I mostly worn Birkenstocks. This winter I've mostly lived in flatish Sketchers Chugga boots with and withouth othorthic insoles. The boots have memory foam inside. Both of these kinds of shoes support my arches and I can walk miles. I seem to fall out of ballet style shoes. In shoes that are not shaped inside I get pain very quickly.

Sadly, orthorthic insoles don't go into the kind of lovely evening shoes that would look right with the dress. I so don't want to wear truly awful shoes. I'd like to buy something that I would be comfortable in and looks pretty. Flat is OK, open or closed are OK, a platform would be OK.

I'm going to try these Flitflops but I've never worn Fitflops before and think they might look a bit too clumpy with the dress. They are almost right.

Does anyone have any recommendations or a brand or a specific shoe. I live in London and am willing to travel!

Have a look at Irregular Choice. Truly beautiful shoes, they are quite wide at the toe, which will fit an in sole and the heels have a lot of support. They also do stunning styles in a smaller court heel which are perfect for me. You can get them in lots of retailers like schuh or sims, and there are a few Irregular choice shops about. Definitely a good few in London. I think Camden has one.

Hi fabulous, I have the same issues as you and though I don't currently own any orthotic shoes, I've been looking for some for an upcoming 2 week holiday which will involve a lot of walking around various cities. I found a brand which seems to have slightly nicer looking shoes than the rest - Vionic. I'm currently contemplating an order!

These, these or these are some of the most dressy styles and are definitely more elegant than the Fitflops. :)

I really like those Ecco shoes Smelly

I'm watching with interest as DD wears support insoles and wants some nice shoes for prom in July. I really don't like the flip flops for a floaty dress for a wedding. They look far too casual. As the wedding will be in April, you might want something warmer than sandals/flip flops anyway.

I bought these. They look good on and are really comfy and lightweight. Didn't think I would get anything in a trainers shop!
