Footner 2016 thread

Just done my first one of this year so that if we do get any nice Easter weather, I can dig my sandals out of the bottom of the wardrobe.

Anyone else planning to do one soon?

We can compare peeling anecdotes Grin

Used them about 3 or 4 times before and got good results as I'm on my feet all day at work, so usually have manky hooves that I try to keep slightly under control with a ped-egg and heavy duty moisturiser.

I did one for the first time last month. It was very satisfying over nearly all my foot area but is not heavy duty enough for my vile hoof heels.

I did a cheap version from Amazon yesterday. I did Footner last year so I will feed back a comparison.

Which Amazon one did you use Patterkiller?

It's a Puredeme one.

Soaked my feet last night and went back to work today. I wear socks and Croc type shoes (work in an operating theatre). Come home tonight, undressed to get in the bath and my feet have fallen off. Well, my heels have. Great big strips! Gross but satisfying! They look rough as anything now. Luckily I'll be in socks for most of the week.

I did it last year, it was brilliant but needed another application which I never got around to.

Interested in that comparison patter

I've got a pack in a drawer... Never used footner before but then I saw it on offer in boots. And I'd read about it on here. And baaaaaa.....

I've read differing instructions on how best to use it. If I recall, the instructions say to leave it on for an hour but I'm sure I've read people leaving it on for more than that? Also does soaking your feet before you put the things on make it better? More peely?

Any tips gratefully received and I'll go for it!

I left mine on for the entirety of a football match, including half time (can't remember who was playing!). Could have gone longer I think.

Actually thinking about it that was the 2014 world cup so would have been an England match. I didn't get round to doing Footner last summer.

Will the Footner I have left from 2014 still be ok?!

I did a session last Sunday (6th). I've only managed to soak twice since then and my feet are pleasingly minging! Still peeling but reckon they'll be done v soon (has made yoga a tad embarrassing).

Amazing stuff. Off to sunny climes for Easter so looking forward to lovely feet.

I look as though I have leprosy.

I can see a little bit of the new skin underneath though.

Can I ask you all a question.

Once you remove all the hard skin do your feet hurt and get blisters etc when you wear certain shoes?

I've not used footner but I have been working on improving my feet a lot over the past month or so and have nice soft feet again. I wore a pair of sandals (that I've had for a couple of years) the other day and my feet ended up rubbed red and I got blisters. I've never had these issues before with the shoes so I can only assume that it's caused by removing the hard skin.

I'm just wondering if it's worth all the effort now. They didn't look that bad before.

I bought footner last year, but then I was too scared to use it BlushGrin.

I didn't soak beforehand; left them on for the suggested time (60 mins); soaked twice over course of the fortnight following (just kept forgetting to do it), mostly done now (been 11 days), baby soft skin.

Haven't noticed it being tender, certainly no blisters, but I've been wearing socks, so we'll see when the Birkies come back out over Easter.

Ok so i did a knockoff footner last night for the first time, seems to have gone well (all the snaggy bits of skin on my heels have got less snaggy already and my feet have not dropped off)

I know you're supposed to soak to speed the peeling. The question now is should i be moisturising my feet as well and if so, how often?!

Thanks for the reminder op. Due to go on holiday in three weeks so will be doing mine tonight.

Last time I did it. I left it on all evening before taking it off. Didn't bother with the soaking so might try it this time.

Footner specifies NO moisturising.

Used Groupon footner on Saturday and now its Tuesday and nothing has happened! My feet look as awful as ever - just a bit shinier. Nothing has peeled or flaked at all yet. Am I a lost cause or is there still time for magic to happen?

MiniCooperLover · 10/05/2016 13:54

It can take well into a week to happen so don't panic. What I would say is go easy anyone on the amount you do. I've done 3 over the last few years and it's really not been good on my feet. The skin gets in bad condition quicker and more easily, and it's hard to keep them healthy looking, almost like they've thinned out too much?

Report
Whistle73 · 10/05/2016 14:07

Thanks, that's reassuring. I've only had quick showers since Saturday so will try a bath tonight to hurry things along. The Groupon was a tenner so won't be doing it too often even at that reduced price. What about the cheaper substitutes, has anyone had good results with them?

I did footner last Sunday and now seven days later they are still really scaley/crispy and flakey but nothing is coming off. If it all flakes off I can see they will be lovely but after seven days shouldn't it actually be coming off? I've been soaking them most days and after each soak they look more peely and then... nothing happens. Desperate to rub it all off now with a foot grater thingy ... or should I wait a bit longer??

Trumpelstiltskin · 15/05/2016 09:05

I'm halfway through my first application. My feet feel all tingly and squelchy. This'd better be worth it because I'm not sure I like it right now Hmm
