Anyone know such a thing? Ive tried so many different brands and types but nothing seems to last for long at all on me. Where am I going wrong?!

Hello Pigley, what brands and types have you tried? I bought a Maybelline Stay 24 colour one and hate it.

Lip primer underneath and a splash of lipcote over the top and most lipsticks will last for aaaages

NiteFlights Sun 06-Mar-16 08:27:44

Ha, I just bought the Maybelline 24 and I like it. I'm lazy and lacking confidence about lipstick and this one does stay on.

domesticslattern Sun 06-Mar-16 08:44:25

Yes, it definitely stays on but I don't get on with the texture sadly. I have used it only twice and will gladly stick it in the post to anyone who wants it. Colour is Rose Dust.

Oh. Never heard of Lip primer before. But then im rubbish with make up and often look like a clown with 2 black eyes!

The Rimmel lip stains work for a while. Tried a few bodyshop ones are 'ok'. Lip pencils were the worst. Been reluctant to buy anything too expensive without knowing it might actually work!

Stila Stay All Day liquid lip colour, matte and gloss shades. Blooming brilliant and don't dry lips out.

It's a 'swear by' product for me!

M&S stock Stila and larger Boots stores.

Liquid lipsticks if you like matte ones, Tarte & kat von d are pretty good.

Gobletofgin Sun 06-Mar-16 10:23:04

If you like gloss the Clinique 8 hour one is great and lasts perfectly until I eat!

Patapouf Sun 06-Mar-16 10:33:07

Gerard cosmetics matte liquid lips are amazing and less than a tenner each smile

Watching with interest

Mac matte lipsticks and hourglass lip stain are both amazing. To tell the truth I've stopped even bothering with other lipstivks now I have these

tappitytaptap Sun 06-Mar-16 13:05:18

Actually the best one I have tried is Superdrug MUA matte - a pound!! Lacking in a great range of shades but keep coming back to it.

VeryPunny Sun 06-Mar-16 13:14:06

Matte tend to last better IMO. Chanel Rouge Allure on top of a lip crayon base lasts all night for me, if applied with a brush.

EveWornOut Sun 06-Mar-16 18:40:52

Mac relentlessly red never comes off. Even with very good make up remover/cleanser.

lorelei9 Sun 06-Mar-16 18:45:53

I haven't found Mac can even survive a coffee!

Lip cote makes me lips feel horrid.

2 step No 7 is okay

Def. trying the £1 Superdrug recommendation.

lorelei9 Sun 06-Mar-16 18:47:34

Oh wait
op what do you mean by long lasting
My wish is for one that will do the whole working day
I figure if eye liner lasts that long....

Branleuse Sun 06-Mar-16 18:50:39

there arent really any lipsticks that last all day without reapplication, and things like lipcote wear off in the middle. Long lasting lipsticks still look best with reapplication every few hours.

Boots no7 stay perfect lipstick lasts well on me, but still needs reapplying

EveWornOut Sun 06-Mar-16 19:04:16

Not Mac in general, Jungle Red for example lasts an hour on me. But Relentlessly Red is matte and super long lasting.

Pigleychez Sun 06-Mar-16 20:40:32

Thanks everyone.

The superdrug one is def worth a shot for £1!

Will have a look at the MAC ones too

CinderellaFant Sun 06-Mar-16 20:59:02

Avon have just brought out a new range which are fab! They are called 'perfectly matte'

I think you can buy online

Onamissionfor2015 Sun 06-Mar-16 21:04:06

Dare I say it but the younique lipsticks are amazing. Just a shame the person I ordered from the last time has moved so I have to find someone else or suss out if I can do it online

chocolateyy Sun 06-Mar-16 21:05:15

OP, I had this problem too. Now I use Mac Prep & Prime for lips, then lip liner, then lipstick, blot, a layer of powder, then liner & lipstick again.

My lipstick will last ALL day. Through numerous coffees & food.

Loreal lipfinity.

fuzzyllama Sun 06-Mar-16 21:18:03

Illamasqua lipstick has so far been the most long wearing I have found. I use lipcote on top of other lipsticks but do find it can be quite drying.
