Baukjen catalogue - what's going on with the models?!

Catalogue arrived through door just now. The models are thin, and I get that models are generally thin, but the photos look stretched!

Look at the neck length and overall head length in the attached pics - just looks slightly odd Confused

Grin

Maybe the fashion in the Netherlands is for looooong necks and they are just visioning it here Confused

They do look odd. The clothes are pretty hideous, too

The Dutch link is surely a bit tenuous - it's the sister company of IO!

I know - but it's the only thing I could think of!

Off the shoulder tops appear to be very popular - to show off the giraffe necks, no doubt.

I've contacted them to ask what happened to the poor models. No reply as of yet...

I used to love Baukjen but have really gone off it the last few years. Bad styling and it's got so expensive.

My word. They've got a new graphics person on picture editing by the look of it. The aspect ration has been changed by the look of it.

Agree that it's gone off and the clothes are so expensive. Hundreds for a bit of black jersey.

The model looks as if s/he cd be male. Male models are being paid instead of women to model female clothes. Maybe the male models are cheaper or maybe the clothes are also sold to men altho they look like women's clothes.

sister company of who now?

I started getting this catalogue off the back of someone selling my details, I think, and have never even bothered to read it as it looks so completely dull.

It goes straight in the recycling.

Sister company of Isobel Oliver
They used to produce maternity and normal clothes under the IO label, and then split them off so IO is all maternity and Baukjen is normal stuff

My catalogue dropped through the letter box today and DH and I have been perplexed by the very weird appearance of the models. The poor lass on page 12 looks positively stretched to the point that her head tapers into a cone...

If you look at the heads sideways they become even more ridiculous!

I put it straight in the recycling when it arrived yesterday but I've fished it out and you're all right it's totally bizarre. It looks like a seven year old has been resizing a picture by pulling it without locking the aspect ratio. Agree that the model might be male.

The blonde one in the white top could be a man

Looks like the heads have been badly photoshopped onto the models - the first one has a massive head and the second one a pin head.

The first model has obviously just been born and her head is still a bit squashed

It's the same models on the web site. The one in white has very angular features, but she's definitely a woman.

I still think there's some weird photoshopping going on in those particular pictures, though.

Yes! Did no-one at Baukjen realise that the photos looked odd before sending the catalogue to the printers?

Can't believe this thread. I haven't looked At the catalogue that arrived today, but the new season one came a few weeks ago and all the models looked borderline anorexic. I was really annoyed and thought about contacting them to express my disappointment. I am a huge Baukjen fan, I probably wear something from there most days, it's expensive but I try to shop when there are offers on, in the sales or on e bay.

The clothes are for the most part lovely quality. But these models have really got my goat.

I noticed this too! It is most peculiar.
Must have been the work experience kid on pictures that day.

I think this one's an unflattering neckline, tbh. She looks better when it's higher or lower.

Couldn't find the other pic.

They don't look anorexic at all. The one in the white top is obviously naturally built like that (much of DH's family have that all limbs and neck greyhound build and DS1 has inherited it) This one looks perfectly rounded and even has some belly in most of the photos of her
