Panda eyes!!

Why can't mascara stay put? If I wanted black smudged marks under my eyes I'd rub eyeshadow or eyeliner around. But no! Is it really too much to ask of a mascara to stay on my eyelashes more the half an hour? My latest fail is Benefit Bad Gal. My lashes are quite long but fair and I'd like them to look thicker. Is it too much to ask? I find No7 just add colour but nothing else, not keen on maxfactor, clarins wander off very quickly and Clinique stick my lashes together so I ended looking like I've only got three lashes Confused

I have the same problem. I'm going to try a tubing mascara next

If you have oily skin or have applied face cream your mascara will smudge. Have you tried applying a little bit of powder around the eye area to make sure it is dry?

EL double wear mascara stays put. Also a really light dusting of powder over under eye concealer.

Wait 10 mins until you apply mascara

Thanks for the replies. I don't use face powder but I could give it a try. Though I'm not sure if that's the problem as the No7 mascara, not sure what it's called but it's the lilac one, doesn't smudge. It just doesn't give any volume. I'll have a look at EL, and to be honest I've no idea what tubing mascara is Blush

I just use the cheapy Maybelline stuff in the pink tube and it stays put all day. Have used YSL, Clarins, Clinique and Max Factor 2000 calorie, but this is the best by far for me. Of course we are all different, and what works or one might be awful for others, but might be worth a try being as it's pretty cheap.

I have the same problem - it doesn't matter what mascara I use, it can be minimised by under eye primer under my foundation that stops the area getting so oily but it's a faff.

I have the same problem with normal and waterproof mascara. I have oily skin and oily eyelids, and I think that breaks down the wax based mascaras.

Tubing mascaras are not wax based, but they are polymers that form tubes around the lash hairs and they are less sensitive to oil, water and so on, so the tubing mascaras stay on my lashes (and off my skin) all day.
My mum has the same issue with mascara and she is also loving the tubing mascaras.
They come off with warm water (but I have not them come off because of tears).

The tubing mascaras I have tried are: Clinique Lash Power, Estee Lauder Double Wear (the one with the gold lid, but all of the double wear mascaras are tubing mascaras) and L'Oreal Beauty tubes (red and white double ended mascara - you don't need to use the white primer to make it work, and I tend to skip that primer as it is too much for everyday wear for me).
No7 has one as well, I have not tried it, but it is afaik in a gold tube.

Sounds like the tube could be the way to go, thanks.
I have long lashes, the catch on sun glasses lenses and when I get new reading glasses the always need to be altered. Though my lashes are fair and quite fine, I found clarins just clumped them together and Clinique benefit plus a few others wandered off my lashes and on to my skin, never realised I had oily eyes Grin maybe that's why I'm pretty wrinkle free Grin

Doublewear is the first not to smudge on me. I had always tried waterproof etc but the problem wasnt watery eyes it was oily lids. Solved my panda problem.

U have the same problem & I don't have oily/watery eyes & don't put any creams on or around my lashes.
I read a review & went & got Maybelline Define A Lash in Waterproof in Blackest Black. If is quite a dry formula but I have no smudges & it's been on for 4 hrs now. I have eyelash extensions so just need it for my bottom lash.
I have tried so many, high end & cheap. I am impressed with this one. I didn't like the tubing mascara. I still got smudging & flaking & hated having to rub my lashes to get it off. I found they dried out really quickly too. I tried Clinique's & Estée Lauder zero smudge.

The only one I have tried that doesn't do this is BarryM waterproof in the blue tube, not the greatest for lengthening but stays put all day.

Posted the same thread about a month ago. Tube mascara was suggested and my life is now transformed. I got the No 7one.

Same as Moogdroog here. Gold tube No 7 tubing Mascara. No panda eyes and I did an Aquafit class wearing it.
