Boden heeled loafer in oxblood

I have had these for ages but never worn them as they don't seem to 'go' with anything. I've tried them with black opaques but it didn't look right at all. So which tights?

They are a really deep ruby, seen alone they look so dark but against black tights the red really comes out.

Dark brown, or a similar very dark red?

They're very 1970/80s Sloane Ranger.

Either matching dark tights, or a nude sort of shade.

Plus naice skirt, pie frill blouse, Laura Ashley lamb wool jumper, puffa or husky. And of course pearls.

I wear with pencil skirts for work. I like a block heel, and have to negotiate mud on my way in, it wipes off patent.

Navy tights? Maybe with a full, short skater skirt.

dark oxblood shoes go with everything!!!! I have a pair of hamble oaks in a dark oxblood colour. They look fine with black opaques. If you think it looks a little odd then wear a shearer black tight - maybe 60 denier. They will look fine :)

They're too high for me personally but I like them, especially Ronald's and Burnished's sugestions.

So what if they have sloaney/schoolteacher connotations? That's how fashion works. I like it when an old look is re-invented, makes me smile.

I didn't say previously as you didn't ask in op, but I really like them.
