Asian skincare and make up

I've seen a few topics here in S&B about Asian/Korean skin care and make up. Had quick look trough them but excuse me ladies, too much info to deal with!
I'm going to Thailand soon and really want to take some time to shop, especially get some skin care products some of you rave about!
So, who can enlighten me please?? No idea where to start, what brands to look for...I could really use some help!
