Hair fiddling!

I have a terrible habit of fiddling/playing/detangling my hair with my fingers. It's bra strap length. Although I have not noticed my hair thinning, i do notice that I pull a lot of my hair out. I think these might be hairs that are loose and would come out any way.. I'm sure we loose a lot on a daily basis naturally?! Any tips for stopping this ridiculous habit gratefully received and do you think im damaging it?

When I say pull hair out what I mean is I notice that my top is covered in hair after fiddling!!

I do exactly the same! I'm sure bits at the front/top by my ears seem to have stopped growing as long as the rest of my hair Blush

Marking place for the same help!

I just try to stop doing it whenever I notice I am. I do it when I'm concentrating on something though, usually at work so it's a difficult habit to break!

Do you think you might be suffering from trichotillomania?

Nah I don't think this sounds like trichotillomania. That's deliberate hair pulling. This sounds more like what my mother calls twiddling. I've twiddled all my life, despite people trying to get me to stop. My hair hasn't fallen out, no ill effects. It's a comfort thing for me and like CremeDeSudo I also do it when I'm concentrating.
