Can anyone recommend me a foundation please?

I'm desperate for a nice foundation, I really want flawless skin! I suffer really badly with hormonal breakouts and blackheads. I'm getting some vouchers for John lewis for Xmas so thought I could treat myself! I was thinking something like bare minerals?

The only thing set in stone is that it must be a company that don't test on animals! Thanks in advance!

Nars is good
You'll need to check their testing
I don't know much about companies that don't. No foundation will make you look flawless. A good coverage that's build able with a decent primer is what you need.

Check out MAC also, I find them to be a bit cakey but I'm sure I read that they don't test

I love Chanel Vitalumiere

You could book a make up session with Chanel and other big brands, I think Bobbi Brown do them too, and see what you think of the foundation. What suits one person might not suit another.

Chanel is fabulous! But pricey.. I use it as my occasion make up. I use boujois healthy mix foundation and concealer every day and it's great! Gentle on my skin too! Plus a good primer to start always helps X

m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?unCountry=uk&path=/en/Rimmel-Wake-Me-Up-Make-Up-Foundation-30ml_1246748 I use this, is great. And so cheap! Only about £6. You can pretty much apply it with your eyes closed and it comes out even.

Sorry not too sure about the resting on animals but I think that would be easy enough to check.

I don't know if they test on animals or not, but L'Oreal Facefinity compact foundation is amazing. I spent 15 years searching for the perfect foundation before finding this. It really does make my skin look flawless (and I have pretty terrible skin).

Max Factor whipped cream is my favourite

Thanks everyone, it's an absolute minefield makeup buying! It looks like nars is the only possibility out of them.

I'm so absolutely clueless about makeup and how's best to apply it and how to achieve different things!

Dior Star is my favourite now. Mainly because of the shades- I'm a neutral and very pale. It does give a nice light -reflective finish, isn't oily or drying and builds up nicely with a couple of layers if you need it.
No idea about animal testing.

I've ditched all my expensive foundations and am using collection 2000 lasting foundation. My skin hadn't looked so flawless yet natural in years!

I really can't recommend Bare Minerals enough! I had breakout skin too but since using BM my skin has been great. I use the Bareskin foundation as a base and then the original powder foundation on top, with the mineral veil finishing powder. You can get starter kits which last a couple of months. sold in John Lewis so you can use your vouchers :)

Estee Lauder Double Wear - cant be beaten if you want really long lasting coverage and to disguise hormonal skin. It's the only cosmetic product I would pay this much for. It's not actually waterproof, but definitely gym proof and rain proof!

Tarte are an amazing cruelty free brand!

Oh yes! Bare minerals! How could i forget! Yes they are great and allow good coverage depending on how much you want to put on. Not great if you have dry skin I've found, but used a small amount of coconut oil on my face 10mins before putting it on and that sorted that out!
