How to style these boots?

I've just been bought these boots for Christmas. I've been looking at and lusting after them for ages and my boss bought them for me. Problem is I have no idea how to style them to stop them looking "streetwalker"

I was thinking thick tights with jumper dresses or a mini skirt and jumper so make them look a bit more casual. I wondered if I could even get away with black or blue leggings again with longer jumpers. Obviously on a night out its going to be little black dress all the way but I didn't want to save them just for best, I get precious little frivolous new things just because I love them so I want lots of options. What would you suggest?

I'm Shock that your boss bought you them!

I'm not sure about leggings I can't picture it in my head but definitely jumper dresses and chunky knits with a mini skirt would be lovely!

Lol no! Grin

Actual boss, works in an office, pays my wages, needs coffee or gets grumpy, one of thee nicest people you'll ever meet and the best boss I've ever had.

She knows I'm quite skint so can't justify buying things I don't NEED so she buys me lovely frivolous gifts for Christmas and birthdays. I've been eyeing these for months. I know they are quite a bit full on but I love them and I was hoping to be able to tone them down abit!

Do you mind if I ask where they're from?

Are they from asos?

They are asos. Daisy street.

It's a very difficult look to pull off without looking like a dominatrix. These are the only pictures I could find. A lot of the photos of similar boots on Google images involve hot pants and chubby thighs Hmm

I like those but personally wouldn't wear with a mini skirt.
You would need to try them on with leggings & post a pic for my opinion on that look because I just can't picture it.
I think they would look best with midi skirt/ dress like this one m.topshop.com/h5/product?productId=22434166 because you get the look & as you walk a hint of how long they are without being too full on

I definitely think midi skirts would look great and I have a few of those. I also have a couple of full 50s style knee skirts one leather, one suede that could work thanks.

Yes I tried a google image search and had to close the window quickly. Envy vom not envy!

I think there must be a way to casual these up, I think I have to be patient wait until Christmas and then try some things.

Over blue super skinny jeans, with a slouchy knit?

Midi pleated skirt with a tight crew knit jumper.

I was praying someone would say skinny jeans! Anything to make them more casual. I'm coming round to treating them like normal over the knee boots as much as possible

OP I would not know about fashion if it hit me in the face but I love those boots. They are gorgeous. I might have to open an account with asos.

I like those too. Am a sucker for OTK boots. The heel on those is a bit high, stiletto type for me but I have platform, wedge and flat styles.

I'd wear them with chunky knitted tights or 100+ denier opaques and a mini-skirt or short dress. No to midi length. What's the point of having those boots if you don't show them off?

Thank you onadark they also have them in beige but I though black would be easier to style.
I'm hoping to find enough styling options that I never have to take them off. I'd wear heels for wandering round the house if I didn't have wood floors!

I'm not sure you could ever style them down. Thick tights won't work because of the open toe and skinny jeans would look wrong because of them finishing at ankle. Skirts the only way to go I think.

Definetly midi skirts and NOT a mini unless you are wanting to work part time on the streets Wink

Unless you're working the streets.

I must be the only one that thinks midi skirt will look horrendous with them.

WipsGlitter · 11/12/2015 06:15

I can't envisage them in a day wear scenario to be honest.

I can't see how they'd work as day wear. With open toes, in winter they'd look wrong with tights and be cold/wet with bare feet. Then in the summer they'd be too hot.

I think you will have a hard time avoiding the hooker boots look. Sorry!

No to leggings or skinny jeans. Double no to skinny jeans, sorry OP.

Skirts or dresses of a length that will almost but not quite meet the top of the boots. Like burnished's first and third photos but without the split in the skirt of the first photo.

I wouldn't do a leather skirt with them either.

ItGoesWithoutSaying · 11/12/2015 11:21

I'm with Utterly and think a midi would be wrong.

OP. You have these boots therefore you must come up with a way, a time, a place to wear them! And report back! ('Cos I am fascinated by the boots and want to how they are worn in RL.) And then buy myself a pair

As soon as I have them I will find a way don't worry itgoes I don't have an issue with open toed shoes and tights, if it's good enough for VB then it's good enough for me! And I think black tights on black shoes could tone them down. But then I'm one of those crazy people who will colour block bright tights with bright shoes Grin

Everyone used to think thigh high boots were hookerish and now you cant move for them in the shops, same with leather shorts. I agree skinny jeans might be tough but until I try them I won't know.

Right now I'm leaning towards my laser cut leather full midi skirt, my suede pencil skirt and thick tights with oversized jumper dresses, plus trying them under my skirt suits and trying them with black leggings and skinny jeans and then coming back here for opinions.

Thanks everyone for the constructive suggestions and even the negative opinions, they've just made me more determined that I love them as if I'm on the fence and someone says they hate something I would normally come round to hating it too but in this case I've just wanted to defend them!
