Small lipsticks

I'm looking to get Dd1 some lipsticks for Christmas but want to get her a selection of colours, is there anyone that sells trial sizes so she can try out lots of different colours to find what suits her?

I bought her lip gloss last year but she hated the feel of it but wants to try lipstick but isn't confident enough to go shopping.

I've looked at the palettes you can get that have colours but it always seems to include eye shadows and blushers, she definitely doesn't want that, that would be too much for her!

So does anything like that exist? im clueless at this stuff! Thanks

Depends how much you want to spend.

Bareminerals have a set at the moment called Love at First Kiss which has 9 small sizes in a really good variety of colours. It is £39 though so a tad on the expensive side.

There are some (unused!) sample sets on eBay. Any good?

Well there is a brand called Freedom, you can buy on their website or in some superdrug stores. They sell their lipsticks in bunches of 5s. Nudes, reds, pinks and vampy colours. It is £5 for the 5 and they are actually a really nice quality and texture. You could buy all 20 for £20 and then when she finds some colours she likes she could go to MAC or similar with it and find a similar shade from them.

Sleek do palettes of 4 shades, more sheer than the density you get from a bullet but nice to try out.

I don't suit red but I bought "Siren" and "Ballet" (drag queen red and neutrals) I love mixing them.

MUA do lip palettes, or their normal lipsticks are only £1 each anyway. I have a lip chubby pencil from them which is really nice

I have the lip palette 'A Century in Red Lip' from Cult Beauty. No eye stuff, just very pretty reds.

You are all brilliant, why didn't I think of asking on her first!

With this month's Glamour magazine, there are miniature Clinique lipsticks (nude and red) plus a mini mascara - different ones on different copies. The magazine is £2 so you could get all three things for £6, and Clinique is lovely.

Years ago Avon reps used to have teeny tiny lipsticks as samples. Not sure if you can still get them though.
