I know this subject has been well documented, but I need a waterPROOF size 8 hooded coat. I have a short musto one and a full length horsey riding doggy walking one, but need a 'flattering' attractive school run / over nice clothes coat, but none of this water resistant shower proof stuff that doesn't stand the test of Cornish coastal downpours ! Any advice much appreciated.

Seasalt. Either Janelle or Plant Hunter depending on how tall you are.

I rarely use an umbrella now, the coat keeps me warm and dry.

North Face Arctic Parka. Totally waterproof and nice and slim fitting over clothes. I love mine and am always warm and cosy. No need for umbrellas either

I got a Didrikson Angelina Parka the other day and love it already! So warm and completely waterproof.

I bought a Jack Wolfskin one just yesterday. Waterproof, wind proof and bottom covering. £240.

I am lusting after an Ilse Jacobsen coat at the moment, as I need something waterproof but smart enough to wear for work.
