I have really dry/oily skin, whenever I wear foundation it goes flaky within minutes. Esp the nose area, any idea how I can ease this?

Flaky foundation means your skin isn't adequately exfoliated/moisturised/primed.

A gentle scrub a few times a week focusing on the areas that are prone to flakiness. Moisturiser and then primer. Should sort it.

I get flakiness around the nose. I now use a Rimmel primer, it's only around £7 but it's really great. I can't remember what it's called but it had a blue lid.

And I second regularly exfoliating and moisturising, it made a huge difference for me

I use no 7 microdermabrasion stuff and that seems very good.

Yep you don't want the cheap ones with the tiny beads. They are very harsh.

Laura Mercier do a lovely face polish. Bit ££ though.

I've recently been loving this. Works beautifully, all natural ingredients and smells like lemon cheesecake Smile.

Lush do a fantastic, all-natural, organic face scrub, called "Dark Angels". It's completely black, and has the texture of wet sand. It contains charcoal (anti bacterial) and rhassoul mud (oil control). It has worked wonders for my skin Grin

You can help this with a urea based moisturizer (Eucerin 5%) worn overnight. Harsh exfoliants will make you peel more. Hydrating serum under makeup will help.

Please don't buy an exfoliator that contains plastic microbeads, they are terrible for the environment and are polluting the oceans.

I like the sound of the Dark Angel scrub, Sparkly, I might treat myself.

Is the no 7 stuff bad for the environment? Will stop buying it if so and get theLush one.

Angels on Bare Skin will be gentler than Dark Angels - Lush should be able to give you samples so you can try both. Also the Superdrug Vitamin E scrub is gentle - uses oatmeal as the scrubby bits.

Who plastic microbeads are bad for the environment, jojoba beads are fine AFAIK.

Is it sort of scaley flakes with redness, or dry flakes?
