Regarde le Ceil boots - fashion indulgence or practical investment?

I've been after a pair of Chelsea style ankle boots for a while, it appears I have fussy taste because despite the thousands out there, nothing has appealed to me, but I have finally spotted a pair I like in TK Maxx, the brand is Regarde le Ceil.

I've never heard of them -French, I assume, and online reviews seem quite good - they look well made, but I can't afford to spend on a pair of boots that fall apart after 10 minutes walking.
I'm not planning on scaling Mount Everest in them, but want something that can withstand shopping, commute etc.

Is anyone prepared to share their experience ?
