How do I find out what suits me?

When I was alot younger I had a really clear sense of what clothes suited me, but now I am 41 and have no idea!

I work part time (fairly smart) and the other days I am at home, wearing jeans that don't fit.

I like the style of lauren laverne, Louisa from Doc Martin , Tilly from Tilly and The Buttons sewing website. I am 5 ft 7, pear shape (big thighs and short legs hurrah!!) but not overweight. Fashion magazines never show me anything i like- so i guess I should be looking at blogs , but where to start?

I have no idea what suits me and no idea what goes together....help please!!

Take 10 things into the changing room and the one that makes you look healthier and most like you is the one to buy.

It's only if I compare with things that don't suit me that I can see what does IYSWIM.

Try googling "dressing a pear shape" for the basic principles.

Dressipi is quite good for ideas.

Or book a personal shopper maybe?

When you find something you like, ask the sales assistant what style it fits and look up that style in pinterest.

Sounds like a nod to a vintage look ?
Try looking on copies of modern vintage dressess on line .eg 40 s shirt dresses .plus little cardis for winter .?
I'm starting to make my own stuff .!
A lot of clothes seem for younger women so I don't think its you its what's out there for women with eclectic taste .?

Yeah, vintage-style dresses will suit you. Even the pin-up ones.

I'm the opposite shape and those are the ones I can't pull off sadly.

This may be controversial but 2 years ago as a day out & my first day away from my 6 month baby, My dh treated me to a colours & style day at house of colour, you can do either or both. It was about £200 but well worth it & so much made sense to me. I totally know what I want & what suits me now. The style assessment is not only about your shape but your personality also. No connection etc, just a satisfied customer :)
