Please help me track down the perfect foundation I borrowed from a stranger

Hello ladies. Please can you help me track down the perfect foundation I borrowed from a stranger ( who I will always think of as an angel)

It was a true s&b emergency. I was at a spa en route to a funeral and when I opened my make up bag everything was there except my foundation. The lovely lady getting ready next to me let me have a squirt of hers, and it gave the best finish I have ever had, but I didn't note the brand. Can anyone help me please?

It was pump action liquid foundation in a cylindrical bottle and it was one where the internal base rose up the bottle as the product was used. The bottle was white semi transparent and the pump was white. The branding was very subtle, either in white or silver.

The coverage was awesome, I have quite high colouring, and it was luminous but also a bit matte and stayed perfect all day, despite a number of tears.

Has anyone any idea what brand it could be?

Thanks Katy

Have you considered the possibility of a guardian angel with makeup that is not of this earth?

It just seems a little too fortuitous... Wink

Don't think so as think the branding was more subtle. I would have remembered the pink. ...

Real
Yes exactly. She was. But she was real!
Honestly, my heart sank and I was in a complete panic as foundation makes a massive difference to my look. I was expected to have to blend, blend, blend back up with concealer etc etc but it was perfect.

Goofy
That is a strong possibility. It looks like a very niche brand - which would explain why I didn't recognise it but also makes it less likely iyswim.
Out of interest have you had any experience of using it, ie does my description make sense? It would explain the fabulous coverage.

I don't think it can be the Nicole Paxson one that Goofy linked to as it doesn't look as though it has been for sale for a few years. The website doesn't have any products. The Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2009 and there are various posts on there from people who want to buy the cosmetics but can't.

Was it just the pump that was white, or was the lid white too?

Could it have been By Terry or Laneige?

Green. Doesn't look like it has a base that rises up when it is used? The one I borrowed definitely did.

Black American. Not that one then. She was a very polished looking 30 something so wouldn't be likely to have make up that old.

Thank you though. Katy

Have thought about this and can't think of what brand it might be.

However, I am a bit of a make up junkie and foundation is my biggest issue, I must have spent a small fortune trying to find the right one (Chanel, Dior, Nars, Laura Mercier, Mac - I've tried them all).

I have dry skin but high colouring so I find it difficult to get something pigmented but not "cakey".

My recent favourites are:

  1. Bobbi Brown Serum foundation. Light/Med coverage but layers well. Works for me more like a halfway between foundation and tinted moisturiser. Lovely for everyday and full of skincare goodies and SPF.

  1. I love Charlotte Tillbury's new Magic Foundation. I ordered some other products and got 3 sample shades for free. It's the best foundation I've ever used. After trying the samples I ordered the next day. I apply with the brush I got with the Bare Minerals liquid foundation, which just went powdery on my dry skin (it's a weird circular brush with a recess in the centre) and the combination of that brush and foundation has been great.
