Anyone want to join me on a de-tox/body overhaul from Monday? Advice most welcome!

I'm tired, lacking in energy and look generally pretty lacklustre - skin is dry & blotchy, hair dull, a bit bloated, nails peeling, I've been noticeably short-tempered and lacking usual motivation to exercise so feeling even worse for not doing anything & my diet has been awful.
It could be a virus or something lacking in my diet but TBH I've been burning the candle at both ends and not taking care of myself properly combined with changing weather so think I just need a kick up the arse to sort myself out.

I've got a quiet week ahead so it seemed like a good opportunity to give myself a bit of an overhaul starting Monday at least until Friday but possibly longer. I need some rules to follow and so far I've got:

Drink 3 litres water a day
No caffeine after midday (this is a big step for me not quite ready for cold turkey Confused)
Minimum 8 hours sleep a night
Diet overhaul - will do a meal plan but I'm not sure of specifics yet other than lots of fruit & veg, oily fish, no red meat, possibly cutting out all wheat, undecided about dairy. Any suggestions?
Exercise - getting back into regular exercise (I usually do HIIT and cycling but looking to add to some strength work and or some sort of stretching (Pilates/ yoga/body balance) so might try out a couple of different classes on my day off and see which I like.
Haircut, eyebrow thread & manicure booked for my day off Smile

What else should I consider for a proper blitz in term of skin care (is body brushing worth a try? Masks & scrubs?) is it worth making or buy g any of these 'detox' juices or am I better just sticking to the real thing?. Any suggestions to strengthen peeling nails? Other than a cut, any home remedies that will help dry & dull looking hair?

Oh, and anyone fancy joining me? It would be great to share ideas to get started and then give each support over the coming week(s). I'm convinced with a bit of effort I can make a real difference to my physical appearance and general well-being and pretty sure that once I'm feeling better in myself I'll be able to keep the momentum up as we head into the winter months and be looking & feeling fab for Christmas Grin. Who's in?

Just a flying visit to recommend the Dr Perricone 3 day diet - I do it every time I have a big event coming up, it's fantastic.

I"ll join you, I've lost loads of weight, but it's creeping back on as I stray from the diet. I go running, but I think I need to do other exercise as well, especially for the tummy. Time is my biggest enemy, FT job, looking after DD and time in stupidly large garden (although that is good exercise)
I don't like cutting out food groups, but definitely reducing bread and sugars where I can

really need to sort out hair and skin to look less knackered

The Dr Perricone detox looks great and it's all things I love anyway. Will be back with more tomorrow Smile

I'm ready to start tomorrow Smile If anyone wants to join me please post on here - I'm going to use it as a diary so we can track progress, share meal ideas & swop tips.
Having read about a million detox type blogs, I think the basic principles are the same: lots & lots of water, plenty of fish, leafy green veg, celery, asparagus, broccoli, apples & pears, almonds & walnuts, olive oil, plain yogurt, oats, berries, eggs, chicken or turkey breast plus I've got some wholegrain rice & pulses if I feel hungry & need to bulk my evening meals. My plan so far is start every day with hot water, lemon & Ginger & end the day with some sort of herbal tea.

Breakfast will either be plain yogurt with oats & berries; poached egg & asparagus or porridge & fruit.

Lunch I'm sticking with soup (made a batch of smooth broccoli & plan on doing a celery & garlic one tomorrow) with fruit or big salad with protein portion.
I'm less clear on dinners but tomorrow is poached salmon with various green, plain yogurt & berries and stir fry on Tuesday.

Beauty regime tomorrow is start with the basics Blush: full de-fuzz, scrub & moisturise plus removing old nail polish & applying clear & an acid peel mask & serum before an early night.

I've bought a new book so ditching the iPad / phone in the bedroom and reading before I go to sleep as I'm sure screens first & last thing are t helping my sleeping.

Phoebe I'll join you, I feel fat and frumpy. I'll be drinking 3 litres of water, eating a poached egg for breakfast & going food shopping to get salad stuff, mackerel & some herbal teas. I will remove my toe polish which I keep 'topping up' & I'll buy a hair dye to do my roots. Smile

Christ I'm hungry Grin

I've managed to avoid coffee so far today (usual intake 6-8 cups so pretty pleased with myself) so fully expecting a caffeine headache sometime soon. I need to up my water intake and my rather watery soup had to be supplemented with a poached egg & asparagus but otherwise doing ok. Looking forward to a long soak in the bath & early night after my exercise class later.

Exercise class is off as I am shattered and have the predictable sugar/caffeine withdrawal headache. Just need to get through the evening without snacking on rubbish once the kids are in bed but I'll be following them shortly as I've got an early start and busy day ahead.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Epsom salt baths? Worthwhile or pointless?

Still keeping off the coffee and feel ok Smile I had a lovely spinach & asparagus omelette for breakfast and lunch was watercress & rocket salad with smoked salmon & poached egg dresses with olive oil & lemon. 2 pears and and an apple mid meal. Tonight I'm making prawn stir-fry followed by melon.

I'm definitely doing an exercise class tonight as I've got lots more energy today and have finished work early so having a wardrobe cull! Tonight I'm doing a manicure (if nothing else I can't snack with wet nails!) and another early night.
Oh and lost 3 lbs yesterday Smile
