In need of orange lipstick - any recommendations?

I'm in the market for an orange lipstick. Very open to a matte finish but mustn't be too drying. I would like something fairly bright that I could wear both day and night. My colouring is very dark hair, pale skin, blue eyes, teeth not brilliantly white but not too bad either

Budget up to ?20 for a really good one

Thanks!

Orange lipstick makes even white teeth look yellowed so don't do it. Orange lipstick is vile anyway and suits no-one.

You have to get Boots No7 gay geranium, it's my fave ever and always get asked what it is, I have got so many people onto it too. It goes on satin with a matte finish, it's bright orange/coral

Gay geranium - what a fab name! I hear rave reviews of No7 make up but never think to look at any of their stuff. Will check it out, thanks Lauren83

Mac morange always gets recommended in these threads. I wish bright orange suited me but it doesn't.

Love love love MAC Morange.

I get so many compliments wearing it and it makes me look tanned.

As a pale Irish girl, this is a massive achievement.

No idea what Handmaiden is on about.

Actually if you spend £25 on m and s beauty at the moment you get a free goodie bag which has a really bright orange lip liner pencil in it which matches morange. Loads of other nice stuff In there too.

I can't imagine a matte orange lipstick looking good one someone with perfectly white teeth never mind the rest of us mere mortals.

Have a look at MAC Vegas Volt. It's a punchy pinky coral, much more wearable than straight up orange.

Or MAC Flamingo.

Morange is intensely orange. I love it on dark skin tones but not a massive fan of it on pale skin.

I second Mac morange too but it bleeds without a liner on me, Mac Tropic tonic is good it's a paler matte orange. Also lady danger is a good orange red. Will post a pic of gay geranium on but prepared to be told it looks shit/doesn't suit me, but I like it so don't care! Grin

I think I need to go to MAC and have a play around with their lippies. I love the look of Morange but would need to try it on. Flamingo is beautiful but too pink for what I'm looking for. Vegas Volt looks really fab - will definitely investigate....

Gay Geranium

Just googled Gay Geranium (glad I had safe search on) and it's lovely.

As a very cool toned pale person I can't wear any lipstick that is remotely yellow or brown based so am jealous of anyone who can.

I wear bright red lipstick and loved the thought of wearing orange but I tried out several in the shops and they made my teeth look awful. They took on an awful yellow hue and put me off smiling altogether Grin

Yeah it won't post weirdly. Boots have offers on all the time on No7 with vouchers or 3 for 2 so I always stock up when it's on

To be honest I always found red lipstick to make me look pale with yellow teeth and orange makes me look tanned, it must be different shades and skin tones

I must dig out my Gay Geranium. I haven't worn it for ages.I find it a bit drying but mixed with a lip gloss it's good.

I have a very similar colouring, look atrocious in anything pink and wear rich oranges all the time. My current favourite is Mac CHili which looks quite a bright brick orange on me but not coral neon IYSWIM.

Lottapianos I am pretty fair it's false tan I'm afraid to say, they are giving out those £3 off boots No7 vouchers think it's with every purchase (and £5 off no7 skincare) so use one, failing that I can send you if they aren't giving them out. I really rate No7 nail polish too

Crevice I haven't tried that one will check it out thanks

sonata that's the thing about matte lippys I think you have to wipe them off and redo them during that day as they go a bit funny, but with gloss mine always bleed over my lipline

Maybelline Neon Red - very bright tomato red-orange. Gay Geranium is a nice colour but the formula is so uncomfortable to wear. Maybelline has a few bright coral shades too.

Maybe try Barry M? They've significantly reduced the number of unusual colours though. Makeup Revolution and MUA both do orange shades in lip lacquer and lipstick although the MUR one is very yellow.
