No pumps / ballet flats / loafers bathing ankle boots would just make it look like I had slightly too short trousers on!!!

No one will know their pop socks though.

I'm thinking for work so ankle boots won't work.

They don't have to be pop socks.
These would work so long as the trousers dont ride up too much when you are sitting.

Are they not pop socks??

Knee high pop socks - wouldn't have to worry about ride up...

those opaque things NO.
Just NO

You want low rise boots - almost a shoe boot

But then there will be a weird gap between the top of the boot and the trousers. I think that can look ok with rolled up jeans but not 7/8. I googled and most images were flats but summer looks.

Look at the sartorialist
Lots of Italians wearingn 7/8ths with flat boots and a gap between.
I wear healed Ankle boots and 7/8 trousers but I do wonder if I look like a street urchin sometimes.

Can't cope with a gap between, my ankles will be chilly and the wind will blow up my legs. My 7/8ths are going away until Spring.

No gap for me until next summer. I don't mind looking ridiculous but I draw the line at being cold.

I make it work. Must be 7/8 tho
