AIBU to find clothes I thought were cool in M&S?

I am 43 and a bit down on myself at the moment. I have never felt older than 19 inside but outside looks very different these days.
I popped into M&S today to sort uniform out for Monday and saw loads of clothes I thought were really nice. What felt odd however was the volume of ladies aged around 60-80 who were also browsing the same clothing.
I know I am a grown up at 43 but am I now in that bracket of 'woman of a certain age'?
AIBU to have liked the same clothing or have M&S really upped their game?
Apologies if none of this makes sense, hormones all over the place today.

You may have been looking at the same items as the 60+ ladies but presumably you wouldn't have worn them in the same way? Just as you might buy a pair of jeans from topshop, for example, but not style them the same way a teenage girl would.

M&S does have some tempting stuff this season in really nice colours (for all ages!)

I think this is the main problem with M&S, some of their clothes are quite nice but I just look around and think nope, this shop ain't for me, and I just walk on by to Zara/Mango/H&M...

I don't think it's age related, my mum is 65 and thinks M&S is for people older than her

M&S always has great gems tucked away for every taste. I hope when I'm 60 I won't be afraid to still shop and browse there. But I know exactly what you mean. Does that mean though when we browse in other shops all the 20 something's think the same of us

I used to buy the odd nice piece in M&S when I was in my late teens. Sometimes they do actually make quite timeless/ageless stuff, sweaters or cardis for example. Most of my friends did the same. A lot of their clothes are definitely for older ladies but there is also some lovely classic stuff that works at any age.
Agree with Kennington that per una is most definitely best avoided though.

They have the occasional brilliant thing, but, my gosh, you don't half have to search through some shite to find it nowadays.

Perhaps the answer to the OP is that M&S have upped their game, not before time. I think I've done too much online shopping because when I went in there last week I thought "Wow, I must go to real shops more often". There really was some nice stuff!
I think they also benefit from being big enough to stock all those different ranges.

I always find good stuff in M&S, as long as I go to the bigger stores. It's definitely one of my go-to clothes shops, so I ignore the haterz.

The website is infuriating though.
