Have never had my hair professionally coloured before but feel it is now time. I've had greys coming through around my temples for a few years now which are getting harder to hide, plus I'm just bored of my natural shade of brown.
These photos were taken 6 months ago after an absolute disastrous cut at a college salon. Never again.
I've grown out the full fringe to the sides (I have a stubborn centre parting, so side fringe is out of the question or i get a cow's lick), but the fringe-hair is still pretty short and needs pinned back. My hair has gotten slightly longer but is still uneven at one side when over both shoulders. And the ends are totally thin/dead so i expect a few inches will have to be chopped off. But I really want to keep it longish. Definitely not above my shoulders. It just bushes out!
I have an appointment in 10 days to get it looking nice. And for once in my life I want a good cut.
I tend to wear my hair wavy and over one shoulder. It's just too thick and frizzy to wear straight (was considering a Brazilian blow dry, but will leave that for another time. Also, when i wear it wavy, the asymmetrical hair isn't as obvious as when worn straight. I just want cut and colour sorted now). Will some long layers be a good choice?
After lots of research, I've decided Bayalage is the right choice in regards to colouring (would be very grateful if somebody could tell me how to pronounce this). I want something natural and low maintenance, and that can be done in one initial appointment.
