What jacket/wrap to wear with this dress?

Another late thread from me Grin

I have this dress to wear to a mid-September do. It's getting chillier in the evening and I am thinking I need something to wear over it but I don't know what.

The dress is quite short - above the knee on me although I am only 5'2" so only just unlike on the model, but the "waist" cut is literally just below the bust - so the A line skirt starts high on the waist on me if that makes sense. I was thinking of a formal jacket before it was delivered but now that I have tried it on I don't think it will look right. Now I am thinking a pashmina but wondering if they are dated now. DH did this face Hmm when I suggested it?

Any ideas anyone?

Also, the skirt is far more A line than it looks in the picture and my shoes, bag and necklace are all black. TIA.

I don't know what I want Old. It's taken much anguish to get the dress, bags and shoes! I quite like the bolero cardi, it's for a renewal of vows so perhaps smarter would be better. But I can't see the cut of a formal jacket working in my mind with the cut of the dress. Dammit for not being Carrie Bradshaw!!

Like the jacket Triathlon but not sure about navy. What do you think about the colour?
I'm not good about colour matching. I found a nice green jacket in Oasis here but DH said the colour was wrong. He thinks I'm colour blind though!

Ok, DH approves of navy! In a face that looks resigned from showing him countless dresses, shoes and bags!

Just had another look at the dress, which to me had a black background is actually a very dark navy. It could work! Thanks
