Anyone else read about this in the A Model Recommends email? How does this work given that people have different skin types?! Some of the products sound lovely but I have sensitive skin and Rosacea (which I keep under good control with careful product selection and by avoiding triggers). I daredn't try it therefore!

I don't know, I have mild rosacea and I've never felt beauty boxes are a great choice for me as they are probably best for 'average' skin - ie, for someone who is not sensitive and does not have issues with redness or breakouts. Acid products can be too harsh, I can only use them sparingly, and lots of standard lotions and cleansers clog my pores - I would not go near anything that features coconut or natural oils. If you haven't acid toned before, you could start with inexpensive pads - if they don't work, you'll only lose a few quid.

I'd use the money towards tried and true products - there is a high risk that you will be stuck with one or more full-size products that don't suit you, and that way you'll lose the potential savings.

I agree and I mostly use LRP products. I've recently returned to an old staple - NY's Rose Beauty Balm which I'm using once or twice a week. I have learnt to just mostly stick to what I know.

Surely you want to choose your own products and what works best for you rather than some beauty 'expert' making money from selling 'her' products?

Yes, that's what I thought. I used to buy all the same brand (Clarins) for about 20 years. Now I pick and choose what suits me. I don't
want to buy it. A couple of the products sound good, but I just wonder who would actually but it for that reason pink.

I wouldn't touch thia to be honest. The idea just doesn't work when it comes to skincare. I would imagine each of the products in the box has been highly sponsored as well.
As for it being in the model recommends email, I really like Ruth Crilly, but it's worth remembering that both her and Caroline Hirons share the same PR team...
If you really like the products in the box they can usually be sourced cheaper elsewhere. That way you can pick the ones that will suit you.

Caroline Hirons is paid to recommend products. These are her employers www.gleamfutures.com

I think it may have been you jasmine who first posted this link? Whoever it was, thank you - it's a very interesting read.

^ Yes it was me Floisme. Smile Always worth remembering with most of these popular "beauty gurus" that are on youtube and also blog, that they are paid to recommend products.
Storm management also represent quite a few of these people as does the James Grant group.

I haven't read CH's blog in a while so thought it was time to catch up - but wow, she is really marketing her heart out these days Shock

I'm not sure I like blogger management companies - when they take over, quirky and interesting bloggers become zombie-like and lose their edge, voice and unique point of view. Another blogger I've followed for a long time started endorsing increasingly bizarre products, and has now gone on hiatus blaming blogging fatigue. Mustering the enthusiasm to write engagingly about feminine hygiene products cannot be easy Wink

I still read both blogs despite knowing about the management company and starting to realise how lucrative both blogs are.

The box just seems odd. CH has always recommended Pixi Glow tonic so fair enough, it's in there. But nothing else has ever featured on her blog at all, they clearly aren't her favourites in any way and must just be sponsored picks. They point out Pixi is new to Cult Beauty so putting the tonic in the box is an easy way of doing a launch and getting a heap of sales, and possibly new customers in.

The cleansing balm and ren serum are both old favourites of hers and were reviewed on the blog.

It's a good price and I was tempted but I've already got the PG tonic (which I don't really rate) and tons of serums and oils waiting to be used up, so I exercised some much needed restraint {polishes halo}

I did end up buying the RMS cleanser though, simply cause I bloody love coconut and it wasn't an extortionately expensive Blush

Not sure where I stand on CH anymore, I love her straight talking, no bullshine persona but I'd be gutted to think she was pedaling the same shite as every other vlogger/blogger - she's better than that, isn't she?
