Hi all, sorry for the long absence, the last week has been really hectic! We've only had sporadic internet access as there is no Internet in the new apartment yet. We are staying for a few days with my parents while I am setting up the new apartment. I've been retrieving things from storage all day and organizing everything. It is a huge task and it will take weeks before everything is up and running. Plus we are in a new country and I am still reeling from the change - everything is so different.

I've not had much time for Korean stuff, everything was packed up for quite a few days. I miss my routine!!! Today I finally unboxed my skincare and makeup - first things first Wink

It's great to see that the old thread filled up! How are you doing? What have I missed? Wink

Thanks Frugal Thanks

Just a quick placemark for now - we're getting ready for a pirate party at Rainbows/Brownies...the girls have makeup out Confused I fear all the girls together will make my head explode Grin

Hope you'll survive the party Lucysmam!

Reading the old thread, catching up - grits updates are just as fascinating as peeling feet Grin

I did a freebie sheet mask just before our move, cannot recall the name any more (no major brand), the sheet disintegrated while I was putting it on and it was just useless. So some cheap ones can be really terrible!

My routine has fallen totally apart. Somehow I planned to move to the new apartment right away and I knew I had left some basics there. But then we ended up staying with my parents and was missing items like a toothbrush, toothpaste and micellar water When you are staying at someone else's house, you might not want to roll out your entire product lineup Wink I finally found my acid pads among DC's shoes (everything was neatly packed at first, until I weighed the suitcase...) Acid pads are the only thing I've managed to keep up. Anyway, I am finding more and more items as I am unpacking and hoping to move to the new place by the end of next week.

actually I'm not sure the watery essence is completely up to the mark. I religiously applied it 2 hourly on friday when I was in the sun working. Normally I stay out of the sun as much as possible . My face did get very red. Of course my skin will be hyper sun sensitive due to the acids and retin. I'm not saying the watery essence is bad, just that I need something more hard core as proper protectionSad

mowglik · 14/07/2015 19:13

Marking place - oo that's interesting bigbuttons - I'm using retinol and acids as well and was hoping this would be good enough protection.

Got me thinking now! How to test it..? Maybe patch test another one next time you are out, or do Biore on one side of the face and another high spf on the other to compare. I may do that with ultrasun spf50. Hope the Biore is up to scratch, I really am enjoying using it and it seems to be a mainstay of the AB bloggers too

Ooh that sounds pretty awful buttons! i've been fine with Biore but I always layer it with BB cream that is physical (zinc + titanium) shield. My Biore is going to be finished soon so I'll use up a couple of other sunscreens before deciding whether to repurchase. I love it though.

Have just applied snail bee and Innisfree red wine. With the temperature and climate change, my face has immediately started feeling tight and itchy, this brings some relief.

Came here to post this super cute Korean mascara - has anyone here used Dinoplatz products?

A fourth thread, fantastic!!

I am still doing my thing and enjoying it! Have been using my Korean stuff and my skin looks better. Am going to try retin a when I get back from holiday, don't want to start it before I go and wreck my skin.....

Hope your move goes smoothly Frugal and you settle in quickly!

So while my skin is fresher and tighter looking it sees more red. Any suggestions for that?

Hello everyone and welcome back Frugal!

Just a quick post to say I just starting using Missha's longer name ampoule (the new one with Borabit) and so far haven't really noticed the difference from the previous one. Still an amazing product though.

I have enough products now to rotate them according to how my skin feels (and my mood, I suppose), but some things don't change at night:

  • Banila Clean It Zero (oil cleanser)
  • Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Pump (2nd cleanser)
  • FAB Glycolic Pads
  • O.S.T. C20 Vitamin C
  • Missha FTE
  • Hada Labo Lotion (this combination is now my fave, thanks lucysmam!)
  • Missha Longer Name Ampoule
  • Benton Snail Bee
  • Shara Share Honey Bomb or Mizon Collagen or Rosehip Oil
  • Laneige Sleeping Pack

Still waiting on my Biore though...

On other news, love this chap's Instagram feed, with LOADS of K-Beauty and mini reviews. Joshua's Instagram

Glad you like it Poppy, it's really very nice! Definitely one I'll repurchase.

Looking forward to finally introducting my secret Key essence tomorrow! Can't decide whether it's an am/pm/both thing so am going to go with am for the moment and see how I go.

For the first time in forever I do NOT need a spot treatment of any sort tonight! Shock I checked and then went back again for another look just to be sure.

I really want to sheet mask tonight but cba to climb the stairs so I'm going to do minimum everything in the morning, come home, take it off and enjoy the peace while the girls are at school and dp's out on his bike.

I'll be reading haul posts on reddit, with a Envy face, instead. No good having to pay customs charges over £15. It's also putting me off things like the Honey Bomb that I will be able to treat myself to but don't want to get stung by Sad

Poppy interesting that you use Missha longer name before Benton. I do it the other way around and every night I wonder if I'm doing it the right way! What do you think of honey bomb? I'm really really tempted by it...

Welcome back Frugal - another country? I must have misunderstood I thought you were moving elsewhere within Italy.

I had my first non AB night last night, I'd had a horrible day and just couldn't be bothered but it felt wrong so I won't be doing that again.

Thanks for the new thread - I can't believe we're on No 4!

Yes, more Honey bomb feedback please I have my eye on it. I have a birthday coming up and might ask my DSis for one.

Shara Shara Honey Bomb is pretty amazing, maybe even amazing enough for me to actually finish the pot around 2022 judging by the size of it Grin

It's a weird product, a little goes a long way and feels thick when you take a dollop, but when it touches the skin it turns into a gel/watery texture and spreads like a dream.

It smells faintly of honey (but I have a cold, so my sense of smell is slightly impaired at the moment)

It absolutely yielded immediate results, in the sense that my skin was ridiculously soft the next day.

I'm not sure if it would be hydrating enough on its own for my skin (dehydrated/ combo), but I think it could definitely be an all-in-one for oily skin.

Having said that, I do use a sleeping pack on top of it anyway.

I think it's fabulous and totally worth the price.

Report
PoppyAmex · 14/07/2015 22:17

ilovetosleep that's interesting. I've been debating about that and think you might be right, just based purely on texture as the Missha is a lot heavier than the Benton.

Might switch them around.

Frugal I saw a review of the innisfree microcara and had to have it. I'm still waiting for it to arrive (prior to my imposed ban on buying any more AB). It has a really thin wand so it is supposed to enable you get to the roots of the eyelashes.

I've bought far too much stuff and although I'm having a lot of fun with it, I think I need to audit the routine a bit. I've been a little careless about introducing new stuff as I went from basically having no skincare routine at all to my current over the top AB haphazard routine. I suspect that I'm duplicating a few things.

Although having said that, my skin clearly likes variety - so this is going to work well for me in the long run.

Yeah I was reading that pre and post prime day prices thing that someone spent ages putting together. Had a look at Amazon.co.uk and hardly anything is on prime and is really expensive when it is so no getting excited here!

I don't normally choose products by name but I really like the miss flower and Mr honey products. I really want the cream and essence oil but they are ££ for AB products so will read more reviews and see

Is anyone using a propolis ampoule? I think they are supposed to impart hydrating brightening and antibacterial benefits so sound like just what I need..

Report
lucysmam · 14/07/2015 22:23

mowglic I posted a thread about the skinfood royal honey propolis essence on reddit yesterday - I'll go find it out for you. The first response I got was a couple of linked searches that I've been working my way through posts in.

Poppy...where did you buy the Honey bomb? & how much? & did your parcel get marked down?
