spotty shoes with a spotty dress - too much?

have a 50s style halterneck black and white polka dot dress to wear at a family poshish do, you know the sort. a friend has some polka dot wedges I could borrow, but would this be too much spottiness?? they are also quite high which I'm not used to.

I live in fitflops so the whole shoe thing is a mystery to me

If the spots are a different size, then you might get a bit 'optical illusion'y...

What about a pair of court shoes in a contrasting colour? Like red, or orange?
