Skin care gurus please help me!

I'm 35, and my skin can be sensitive, I found a cheap moisturiser my skin didn't hate and stuck with it, but I now think I need to invest in a more rigorous routine, or at least a decent moisturiser. But I have no idea where to start!

I occasionally get eczema and sometimes a few spots, I have a few lines but not too many (yet) and generally wear a tinted moisturiser with SPF during the day. I haven't been spending very much (nivea) and would spend a bit more for the right product, but I don't want to waste too much money and time and irritate my skin trying things that won't suit it. I'm also a bit sceptical about miracle creams etc.

Any ideas you gorgeous gurus?
