Buying beauty products on Ebay

Does anyone have any experience of buying face creams / oils on Ebay?
I thought I'd take a look on Ebay out of interest and found products at a much lower price. Are these likely to be genuine?

I've bought make up on there before from business sellers with great feedback and been sent products that were fake. I only knew as is been buying the real ones for years. Maybe there are genuine sellers of premium products cheaper but I didn't find them.

Yes, I have bought Clarins off eBay. Just make sure you buy from a reputable seller. There are genuine businesses that operate through eBay.

Start off with a few products that are sealed.

I would know if product was a fake as have been purchasing the same from stores for years.

Just out of interest, do you know how they manage to get the products, for example, if they're No.7 etc?
I've run out of quite a few products all in one go.

I've bought the odd thing & had no problems. Always check feedback & I'd go for a U.K. Seller so you have protection.

I bought a Mac pressed powder from eBay and it was an obvious fake compared to my original one. The lettering was different and the packaging looked cheap and flimsy.

I asked for a refund and the seller did reimburse me straightaway but was unimpressed when I told her it was a fake. She blamed her suppliers...

i would check what else the seller has for sale and how many they have

chances are if they are only selling one of something then its genuine....high chance if they have say 10 of something then its fake

i've bought fakes from ebay mainly bobbi brown eyeshadows, the pigment is not as good

Purple powers I had the exact same issue. The seller was outraged that I said that it was a fake and blamed her suppliers. All of the packaging etc looked really authentic but I knew the product wasn't as I'd bought the real thing in store many times. I do think there are genuine businesses on there but I also think there are many who get away with selling the fake, impressively packaged rubbish as the only feedback they get comes from people who have thought it's authentic. They'll often refund and cancel a transaction if you all them on the product being fake.

Hmm, so it's a tricky one. Maybe one to think about.

I regularly buy American brands on eBay that I can't get here. But they aren't expensive items, they're just not sold in the UK. I can't see anyone going to the trouble of producing fakes.

Been buying creams for years and have never had a problem. I usually look for a top rated seller and avoid buying from just an individual person. Everything has been spot on. I have bought loads of protect and perfect at a fraction of the cost. :)
