These.

Or are they too... Unweddingy?

Too casual. IMO

And this is from someone who doesn't like dressing up.

Lovely trousers but are like something I would wear to work rather than a wedding to be honest.

Hmm OK. Thanks everyone, I'm going to keep looking. I was thinking of wearing them with a smart top of some description (which I realise is a very vague non-descript description).

Normally I wouldn't wear trousers either but I was thinking about it and I prefer to wear trousers in general so decided I'd do it this time. Now I'm realising it's quite hard to find a suitable trouser wedding outfit!

Funny, I've just been thinking about trousers to weddings since I saw this pic of Emily Blunt and now want to be her

Imo she looks great and I would totally wear somethinf like that to a wedding. It's all about the overall look, not the individual pieces I think.

I think with a bright bag/heels they could work very well.

Nope. Another person who wears jeans for everyday smart, but wouldn't wear these for a wedding as they're not quite right. They're just too relaxed, even if you dressed them up with a nice jacket.

Emily Blunt's outfit there is lovely. When I've been googling for ideas I've seen what Amal Alamuddin / Clooney wore to her wedding and I love that too. It's a trouser suit (and yes I'm very behind the times).

Yes with the right top and some fab heels.

I think you could, with heels and maybe a smart but slightly quirky jacket.

Far too casual and non-descript.

Where is the wedding?

Report
burnishedsilver · 13/06/2015 23:34

I think if you style them right you could make it work.

High heels and a tailored jacket could give you this dort of silhouette...

Another option would be to look for more of a statement top.

I really like that first pic tarnished. The wedding is in France but just outside Monaco I believe.

Going to depend on the wedding and setting and what the other guests are wearing, but I think - without knowing the answers to those - that they are too casual.
If in doubt, it's always better to head for the 'smarter' end of what you are thinking than the casual end.
