Make up slipping off my face

I use a variety of primers, as keep buying them hoping one will make it last! Also use Urban Decay oil slick spray, and I have the powder too.

I'm currently using Lancôme Teint Miracle, although I've a slight tan so going to look for a new one tomorrow.

Any suggestions on how to keep make up on?! I have always thought I have greasy/oily skin, but had a facial last week and she said it was normal, although congested under the surface.

All ideas and recommendations welcome!

Try putting loose powder on under foundation.

I've tried putting finishing powder on, after primer before foundation and it didn't help unfortunately, but thanks for the suggestion!

What kind of skincare products are you using under the makeup?

I have found that my makeup lasts longer without primers.

Also, thin layers of products, including foundation will often make it last longer than thicker layers. It might also be worth changing the way you apply the foundation - try fingers instead of a brush, or a sponge or brush instead of fingers.

Carpaccio I use Cetaphil and a deep foaming cleanser from La Roche Posay, then either This Works in transit moisturiser or La Roche Posay one.

I do always use a brush of some kind so will try (clean!) fingers instead, and abandon the primer.

Thanks for the tips!

If you use products for oily skin and you don't actually have oily skin, it might cause your skin to get more oily (as the products can be quite harsh) which often affects the lasting power of the makeup.

I don't know which LRP products you're using, but if they are for oily or acne skin, maybe try just the cetaphil and the this works product under the foundation.

Before you buy a new foundation, I recommend asking for a sample before you buy to make sure it works for you and it has the right colour :)

The only foundations that truly stay on my skin are the long lasting ones - ie Revlon Colorstay, Lancome Teinte Idole Ultra. Press and roll powder (rather than sweep or brush on) on nose, forehead and chin keeps it on these areas for longer if it's hot or I need it to stay there all day without touch ups. I don't think primer helps at all for this purpose either - it makes my skin more slippery if that makes sense?! Maybe I jut havent found the right one. I also use Urban Decay All Nighter, not convinced it makes a difference though.

I had this problem ,
I now moisturise , prime using smashbox photo ready primer and then stipple my foundation on using the real techniques buffing brush , I then conceal with a damp beauty blender and bake using Laura mercier translucent powder , after brushing off the excess I use Avons setting spray
If I'm going out for a special occasion I prime using milk of magnesia , I swear by it its amazinnngggg! But you can't use it all the time because it's not good for the skin x
